Lawless area?
#16
I think it's a bang on idea, atypically this means anyone in the area is under a forever character warning at all times, as they are forfeiting their safety to be there.

I'm drooling while I read over this material. Epic idea Miah. I wish I'd thought of it first. : 3

If we could actually instate this, I might RP here a ridiculous amount.

Also, I was just thinking something like that, Ansk. That would make the town 1: Less likely to have some glowy pally nub walk in and try to be awesome under the protection of character warning policy, and 2: make it overall more real and gritty feeling. I also enjoy the idea of turf wars. I was doing something with Mike similar to this back in November of last year, before he went inactive.

This needs to happen. I've always been a bit drawn to risky RP, something about the fact of loosing your character in an instant is alluring to me. It would be nice to have a place that has such an atmosphere that adds backing to bland tavern RP. I too have been feeling a bit too safe lately, and I believe it is time to have a lawless place where the liars, cheats, and degenerates of the world could hang out.

Besides, I would like to have tavern RP where someone would just randomly get into a fight, or even killed. Wouldn't you?
Aanya Ambersong- The conflicted Soldier of Fortune.
Julianah Graven- The fanatically self righteous Zealot of The Light.
Shaavi- The Fighter who is willing to test her mettle against everyone, and everything.

"Keep an open mind, it'll do you good."

I might actually start to RP again if something like this was to start up! Hieronymus may yet have a place to truly call home.. hehe. It does look and sound, in theory, like a really great idea. I just hope that the 'Forever Character Warning' would stay, because it would just be terrible to have a lawless town with extreme safety under the Character Warning Policy.

For once I want to be able to just walk up to someone in town, shank them four times in the back, steal all of their valuables, walk off and buy some beer.

MORE VIOLENT RP IN THIS SO CALLED 'WAR'CRAFT GAME.

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!
Do you have what it takes to join the Fighting Blues?
Do you have what it takes to defend your homeland?
Will you stand up in defense of the innocent? The weak?
Will you stand up in defense of Justice and the Law?

Love it. Don't have a character in mind yet for it, but I'll think of something. Also, I make a >:( face at you Anski for using a song in your signature I was thinking of as a theme for a character.

I'm going to look for a good location right now. Would this town be created or preexisting? If created, Silithus, Swamp of Sorrows, Duskwallow, Badlands, Searing Gorge, Burning Steppes, Desolace, Feralas, Un'goro might work.

If preexisting I have no idea.

I like how that many of the issues you can have can be solved by the lawlessness. As in, if someone was silly enough to start killing without reason, they would likely face a backlash from the other residents and be killed themselves. This ensures that there would be an element of danger, but much less risk of senseless character death :)

If there is a town thats pretty much useless in game, would be quite fun to make it a GM run event, a kind of hostile takeover. "This here town is OURS now! Burn dat cathedral to da ground!"

Our own little impact on the WoW world :)

My suggestion is you get some of these 'clean-slate characters' onto a boat, have them all stranded on an island, and have them all fight to acquire the resources to escape the island/survive. You would have your lawless characters, and if you wanted to add someone to the bunch, just say they 'washed up late' or something.

Actually, Alcaz Island in Stranglethorn could suit the needs. It's relatively close to a major population, easy to get to OOC'ly, and would only require minimal additions such as small building/npc additions. The already ruined buildings and shady, flooded cell dungeon gives it an already run down and shanty feeling.

And it has a dock area. Just sayin'.

The most important thing of this idea is. . . We'll get a place to say

"<Insert town name here>. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious."
