Client automatically patching itself

I can't make my client stay at the right path (3.5 or whatever the right one is) whenever I run the game, it tries to patch itself. How do I run the client without patching so I can play on CotH?

Do you have your realmlist set to the CoTH one? It shouldn't patch further if you try to run it with the realmlist set to this server's.

Yes, it still tries to patch it anyways.

Ensure you're running the game from Wow.exe. Also, try renaming the BNUpdate.exe file.

I renamed it that and it worked, thanks a lot.

Now I can finalllly play!

EDIT: Now whenever I try and log in it says: Disconected from the server

Any ideas?

Yes, I did. I've done everything in the guides, and it has all worked up until this point. It just instantly disconects me as soon as I press login.

You're on patch, 3.3.5.

If you have both of those things, then I'm stumped. Hmmm.

I've read it already, but thanks. So, my WoW was actually patched to 3.0.1.8874 not 3.3.5a. (I'm not sure why it said it was at 3.3.5a at first...) However, Patchin doesn't seem to work for me manually installing patches. Is there any other way to get 3.0.1.8874 to 3.3.5a?

Here's how I depatch then, repatch everything back up again.

This is for windows, if you don't have it, don't do this.

Find your WoW folder, then go to Data, delete patch.MPQ,
patch-2.MPQ

Go back to your WoW folder double click repair, make sure everything's checked, then click, reset and check files only. It'll say something about severely damaged.

The game will depatch you all the way back to, something like 2.9 maybe? Not exactly sure. Anyway after that's all done. You'll have to keep patching until all the way back up to, 3.3.5a, this process for me, takes about 3 hours I think.

I found out I can use my molten WoW helper to set it to the right patch

About half way one now, finally all these bugs are behind me. I'll be able to play FINALLY!

I've been having a similar problem with the client trying to patch itself.

Realmlist is set, running from Wow.exe, but I can't find this BNUpdate.exe file. I've tried renaming a few things with "patch" in the name without any luck getting the autopatching to stop. Anyone have an idea what I should do?
