I was just pulling your leg. Plate's heavier in most cases because it has all of the backing.

Just wear whichever, and have her struggle a little with it sometimes. That's all it takes.

I'm confused now. Which is heavier?

...It depends how it's made. Chainmail is USUALLY lighter, but not always. It gives you waaaaay better visibility. That's the thing I like about chain over plate.

And less clankiness and glitter if you want to be stealthy.

I always viewed chainmail as a noisy piece of work.

...Wow, we're really off-topic.

I know right?

Well, chainmail makes a kind of slithery chiming sound. Unless you whack into something, it's not terribly loud. With plate, you have to keep it well taken care of or it'll get joint problems, which add to the noise. And it clanks.

Promise this is my last post. If you're interested, I suggest researching the merits of one versus the other.

Also, chainmail holds all the weight on the shoulders and hips.
Plate mail distributes it about the body.

While Plate may be a bit heavier, it is oft-times easier to carry over long periods of time.

Dont forget, there are different versions of both plate and chain. Some chain is fine, some is a heavier weave. The type of metal used is important, as s how much flesh is covered.

As for plate gear, remember that WoW Plate is usualy pretty stupid. Covered in useless spikes and...rims. From the models of most of it, i would say it was heavier than most chain.
Of course, some Plate would be light. I personaly fan-boy over the Overlord Plate armor set, which is likely the most realistic heavy armor set in the game. It combines chain and plate the way alot of armor did, and has no extra...spikey bits.

All i'm saying is, if you choose the right plate, it could very well be as light, or lighter. So...Wear what you want!

Thanks for all of the advice about armor!
Now.
I -know- there are people out there that would contest Anna's realism. Step up, people. Feedback thread isn't that scary.

Summary of Annabelle:

Nineteen year old Paladin, former Priest, former girlfriend of Warlock, friends with a Demon Hunter and an Archmage, leader of a militarized organization, potent wielder of the Light...

...Object of romantic interest for countless males, some of them not of her own species...

...Well, I put it as vilifyingly as I could, but you insisted!

Thanks...! You're Tavren right? xD And technically, she's not a paladin. More of a...battle cleric. Still a squire as well.
And you forgot her bff is a ley-walker! >:C

I actually don't know much about Anna just to start. I am just going by what I've gathered from the thread. I'm assuming the arm numbness is permenant? If so, more power to you on a believable side-effect of rez. Now, unfortunatly you need to live by the bad sides of such a thing. I assume it's from damage and tear? Numbness of the arm through damage makes the use of that limb vastly weaker. Does she use said arm to hold up shields, or swing weapons? Now, it depends on how healthy she kept her bones and muscles prior to damage; more importantly where the damage occured, and if I assume correct (and that it is damage, and not some weird side-effect of magic. If so, ignore all of this), but if the muscle was too damage, or the bone was broken, then the numbness in her arm could vary from a chronic occuring "pins and needles" feeling you get when you sleep on your arm that comes and goes in waves now and then... to full-blown paralysis/dead weight. It depends on the damage, and since magic is involved, I would guess the swiftness of action and the strength of the spell. However, another lasting side effect of arm numbness is a chill, weakening of the arm (especially in cold weather), fatigue of the limb (if the muscles did not heal properly), and even pain in the joints if the bone did not heal properly. Just somethings to think about next time you're fighting with that arm.

Now, of course if it was a side effect of something, or just the limb recovering from magic, or something strange... disregard all I said above as suggested realism.

EDIT: Also, forgot to mention numbness is just one of the side effects of damage, or various other occuring things. It could be medicinal even, and have an entire list of complications. Only registered after I posted that it could be from other issues, but they'll have their own side-effects to share too.

Actually, it's from a paralytic poison. It was introduced into her system twice in one day via the same arm by way of a poisoned dagger. I was at a loss for side effects because her death was so...quiet. The numbness is a pins-and-needles thing, like what you feel when you sit on a limb for too long. That's how I imagine it, anyway. And it comes and goes, but will be with her her whole life. If she keeps the arm moving, it's alright. If it's still for a while (like sleeping) it'll take a few minutes to get back into commisssion.
