Personally, roll fights are terribly unbalanced. As an example, off goes my shadowpriest into battle one day. He pulls a shadowfiend from a ring enchanted for him, and stumbles over to the currently-distracted yet still concious human down the road a few yards. He reaches out to let it enter her chest. No more than three inches from her chest. It missed. IT WAS TOUCHING HER CHEST WHEN HE LET GO. Hence, the roll gods do stupid things to people who should win a roll.

I prefer to only trust fight, because of things like this. But I only ever trust fight with people I know, hence I only RP fight with people I really know and can trust. Sad, I know, but I prefer avoiding rolls at all possible due to shenanigans.
