The Undead
#1
While I was looking up Life Spans on WoWWiki, I searched a bit more on that page and found that it said this passage about the Undead. (The first part is common sense, but read all of it)

"Forsaken do not age, as they are already dead. Forsaken do not mature into adulthood, an individual becomes Forsaken upon death. While technically immortal, some Forsaken exhibit signs of old age, losing their identities and eventually sentience. They appear as dying old humans, feeble and scared, with a cold growing inside them, and forgeting who they are. They are losing their mind to the Scourge, and would eventually become a "mindless one" - an unintelligent zombie. All forsaken fear this process, as it means they revert to the Scourge's will and lose themselves to the Lich King and his dominance. The Forsaken will often kill these poor souls, perhaps as a form of mercy."

So, just to tell players that are Undead to remember that. ;)

Aah, then let me point out this.

hawk Wrote:some Forsaken exhibit signs of old age,

Key word; Some.

I personally think its the weak undead that that happens to.

Dunno maybe, but I reckon you have to be pretty strong willed..

It could be just 50/50... or like becoming sick. Happens to some, doesn't happen to others.

It's not something that's expressly stated. While the wording suggests that not all undead fall prey to the process, consider this: not enough time has passed for all Forsaken to "die of old age" anyway, as they have not existed as a race until the end of Warcraft 3's expansion. So it may be an inevitable process that all Forsaken fall prey to, but they don't necessarily know that yet.

This is why I love having WoW D20 books and other lore.
Forsaken are immortal to the degree of they emotionally change according to age, so a forsaken teenager would eventually after 100 years or so of drawn out life would begin to act more like a middle aged man. Their mind's grasp maturity at a slower rate, like how elves must live till 100 or so before actual adulthood.

This was not taken from the books, this was compiled from the lore all around, including the books.

Well it does say All Forsaken fear this process, but before it says some forsaken...

Kinda contradictory there
"I am more afraid of one hundred sheep led by a lion than one hundred lions led by a sheep."

Not really, if you see someone get shot in front of you´ll probably fear that the same would happen to you, right?

That doesn´t mean that you will be shot, just that you are afraid of it...

Oh yeah...! Now I understand. Well yeah, I guess that point is valid. I was focusing on the All Forsaken part. xP
