What the heck is going on with the rp on this server?

I do give my apologies for being inflexible with those events- While I initially hoped to vary the timeslots, it's unfortunate that your time schedule probably conflicted with -my- school, heh.

I do hope my future events can hit some different time slots, but there's only so late or early I can manage and still be completely sane, heh.

Only two weeks 'til no more clashes!

One for me, technically. \o/

To be fair...

If you had a problem attending the Stonetalon events, then it sounds like you were having problems appearing on the server during its prime-time. I'm not sure that's a problem that we, on our end, can easily fix. You're naturally going to have a harder time finding good RP on off-hours, as there are fewer people.

It's alright, we have Bounty now. He can pick up the off hours.

All the time.

With the equivalent work of the rest of the team.

I am not sure how you feel about that, then, but I heard Prologue has a big European base, so perhaps that server could cover hours more fitting to your schedule? Though I think you said you did not want to leave..
#37
I really don't think suggesting for people in a different timezone to go elsewhere is beneficial for the health of the server. I think a better goal would be to get more folks around during those hours so there aren't fewer options for RP.

Some of the responses articulated exactly what I've been feeling and I really want to thank everyone that felt bold enough to say it even though it goes against the 'let's all keep the peace and not whine' philosophy touted on most forums. While I firmly believe in not airing a complaint with out also suggesting a solution, I fear I'm like Psychyn and really don't have one unfortunately and just wanted to voice my complaint in anticipation that someone else might or at least be able to answer a few of my questions so that i can make a decision on whether i really should suck it up and try and 'break in' to another server which I really don't want to do.

Excuse me? I'm sorry but this is going to sound extremely crass, so brace yourself. How dare you say something so vile? I myself am in High School, as are many of the good RPers on this server that you wouldn't expect. I'm not as active as I used to be, but honestly? You think that High Schoolers can't RP well? We're somehow not eloquent enough to be on par with your high and mighty behind?

Now that I've spent a fraction of my rage, please, step off your high horse and we'll both behave like grown-up people instead of just picking out a group of people and judging them simultaneously like a fool.

Point taken. I don't think i said that highschoolers can't rp though. My intention was not to criticize anyone's rp ABILITIES. I was commenting on CONTENT. Even great writers can have a 2nd book that fails miserably.

If a person is highschool age, the content of their rp is most likely going to be what they can relate to while in highschool... and that's the CONTENT of most of the rp I'm seeing. So to clarify so as not to offend.. yes.. I'm sure there are some very good rpers who are still in highschool but the content of the rp i've seen seems very highschoolish.. at the maturity level of a person in highschool. ..and yes there are adults who never graduated emotionally beyond highschool. To be honest.. age matters very little to me and i'm not thinking while i'm rping about how old the person might be or how big the words they use are or how eloquent they are but more on what their rp is about.

So I think my question is a valid one. If most of the player base is highschool aged people and some of the GMs are high school people, then it explains a few things. You can be sure that when I was in highschool, what i wanted was quite a bit different from what a 30 year old wanted.

If this is the direction that the server is taking .. the direction that highschool aged people want to take it because they make up the majority of the player base and have GM roles then let me know and i'll stop wasting my time trying to find ' like minded ' rpers and move on.

Seriously, enough with the high school stuff! I joined CotH when I was in my third year in high school and since then I've had wars, skirmishes, crafting, making tattoos, gathering resources, mercenary work, monster slayer work, magic academy RP, drinking RP, pirate RP, marine RP, several campaigns in Northrend, a few in Azeroth, looking for a missing person all over Outland... and those are what pop up from the top of my mind. If you think all this is not a good content for RP, then you probably expect to become Ruler of Stormwind and bash Thrall in the head with your all-mighty mace... no offense. :?

I admit, the RP level isn't the best that ever was, but it's up to us - players - to make it the good, old CotH that we had about an year ago. And I think we all should take actions. I feel partially responsible for being so passive when I face people at GMI who don't wanna RP and the lack of other RP, but Booty Bay. This is why this thread inspired me to start something of my own. Hope it works out, once I am done thinking it out... and actually start it.

PS: Summer vacation will get things going again, probably. :)

Maybe if you have reall issues against the "high school" playerbase of this server, many of whom are just as good as the older people around, maybe you should find yourself some other server, or go rp pen and paper style or whatever.

Your posts amuse me for a great number of reasons.
1. You are clearly RPing with the wrong people.
2. From what I've seen, you're not better than those you rail against.
3. If you seem to hate the prospect of all these high schoolers, then go away. It's less caustic for everyone.
4. There is a point where complaints stop being legit complaints and become whining.
5. There is also a point where you basically need to do it yourself, should you want to stay. Don't have people that RP the way you like? Go approach a different group. Find a person that RPs how you like? Get their damn forum name and MSN/AIM/<Insert IM thingie here>.
6. All of these points will probably go over everyone's head.
7. No, seriously.
8. You seem to miss out on the fact that you can simply make your own events suitable to your time.
9. You've yet to show any reason why the content you produce is so much better.
10. It's early in the morning. I'm tired. I like round figures.

I'd have to say, I'm in my last year of high-school, aswell.

I honestly don't see what you're getting at... I've RPed with 14 year olds and had great fun. Not all underaged people are the way you describe, on the contrary, I think most people here that are still in school are much more mature than any person I've ever met.

What I'm trying to say is that it doesn't matter how old the person is, his RP style can be the best you've ever seen.

I think we should just get off the high school comment for now. I don't think the person was meaning to rail on high school rpers but high school itself... or maybe that's just me. High school sucked and rpers and people I could actually relate to seemed to be in such a minority that I felt mentally isolated from the rest of the high school people. It might have meant that.
