Bern's Folks... Gnomeregan.

Bah I still can't help it... maybe Azeroth is just a dangerous place after all?

Gralks parents are both dead. She actually feels quite proud about their deaths, as they both died in battle against Demons. One in Hyjal, one in Nagrand.

One of my older character's father had died after I had been role-playing on the character and it was not really an "off-screen" death. It wasn't role-played (which would be the next step), but the actual loss of a parent was a really important note for the development of the character. It's very easy to have a parent for a character killed in many of the cataclysmic/apocalyptic scenarios, too so I'm not surprised it happens so much. Did not consider how widely it gets used though, or even if it is something that attractive to attach to a character.

Wrote my Warlock's profile. Let's see her Dad ran off (but is alive, woo!) And her mother took her own life. The warlock is in a constant state of trying to earn her father's approval... and that's if she ever finds him. Muwahaha!

Cristovao

-Father, Antilio, went through the Dark Portal when Cristo was a boy, never came back. Accepted him as dead, but when the Burning Crusade occurred, his hope that he was alive was resparked. Unfortunately, this hope was crushed as he never found him. Has since come to cope with this.

-Mother, Maeia, fell to the Scourge of Lordaeron while Cristovao was tutoring in Ironforge. Ultimately coped with her death as well, but feels guilty that he only survived because he was away. What Cristo doesn't know, though, is Maeia has become risen as a Forsaken. When he does find out, he won't take it well.

Impact: Overall, Cristo's parents shaped him well. His father is why he became a paladurn, his mother is who introduced him to poetry and arts and made him the level headed person he is now.

Madugo:

-Du'guro, his father, was until recently thought to be dead. Madugo did not think much of it, but now that he knows Du'Guro is alive, he is hesitant to approach him out of fear of not living up to his expectations.

-Mother is most likely deaaaaad.

Impact: Du'guro tried to raise Madugo as a pristine example of a witch doctor, which has instilled a fear and respect in Madugo from his abusive childhood. On the more positive side, Madugo became in tune with the spirits from Du'Guro, as well.

Sounds.. Interesting... Let's see,now...
Derick:
-Parents : One dead, One disappeared
> Mother - Died giving birth to him.
-> Result : Lacking the presence of a mother in the family, therefore Derick is far away from a softie and always hides his emotions.
> Father - Disappeared
-> No real impact... He was old enough to think that his father was dead and accepted it. Although he still respects both of his parents and would turn really agressive if anyoen dares speak against them.

I had it that my draenei twins' parents died so long ago, they hardly remember what happened. It is moreso to do with the harsh life of constant running away from the Burning Legion. The greatest impact they did bring, however, is to pursue a life following the Naaru, as their father was a vindicator and mother an anchorite. Still, they have little influence in the present, as I established moreso in my twins' history that they were orphans under the care of a matron when they, alongside other orphans, attempted to make their own settlement in Nagrand by the time of adulthood (a main reason why I decided to go against the trend of super-old Draenei and make mine really young for adults).

As for my other characters, I didn't bother to kill off or mention parents, but for some, I make them open to be RPable. Kentado needs a mommy and a daddy and I'm still open for others to RP his family. Mahen'Tosh is old, you can't expect his own folks to be alive, and all my others are just blanks of unimportant mention yet are otherwise most likely alive and well. I am contemplating if I should RP Tibalan/Kaldereto's overbearing mother or someone else do it, but she does have an impact on his character.
