It should be noted though that there is a history of who gives you a rating and for why. I don't think people will be able to abuse the negative rep for purposes of drama and harassment.

*Shakes head* I think they can, for the 'luls' of it as there are no rules stating you can not, repeatedly post someone down on every post and such. Somewhat childish, but trust me, there are plenty of people who do it. Same as there are plenty of people who spread rumors, and plenty of people that'll always QQ.

It's a saddening reality really but I have no positive feeling of this new reputation system. Especially seeing people have already gained several rep the second they found that button. ^^ Popularity if you ask me.

Ah well. To each their own I suppose, I don't have to like it.

Well, if it was about popularity, Kretol would have had more Rep than Wuvv. :P
I believe our community is mature enough to deal with such a system. :)

Or it might just be based on the quality and content of your posts, just like with the old system.
Right now? I don't think anyone will rate down for the sole fact that everyone can see who rated down and why.
They're probably afraid it'll lead to a rep war or something.
That, or not many have figured it out and/or mature enough not to.

The old system was based on a simple "Thank you." If you liked a post, laughed about it, or felt it was informative you could thank it. Now you can bluntly shove it into somebody face with a comment stating how bad the previous post was by rating somebody's reputation down. Someone gave you a hard time? Let's down-rep him with all our buddies, and so on. Let's make people look bad with a negative rating, because surely you are going to listen sooner to someone with 20 rep, then someone with -20. It adds nothing constructive to the post made or user.

Regardless, I did not mean to stir up a discussion and I placed my opinion forward, so I'm leaving it at that. To each their own. ^.^

As I said, I believe our community is mature enough not to do that... and who actually cares who has 20 rep and who has -20?! Most of us know many of the others. And the ones we don't, well, if we form up an opinion about them on some number, what kind of people are we? Give it a thought. ;)

Sorry for the double post, but I found a bug. When a sub-forum (for example The Bazaar) has a new reply and you read it, it gets marked as read for the said sub-forum, but not for the main forum, unless you go to the main forum after reading it. If you read it and go directly to the index page, the main forum will still have the icon of "New Reply Here" state.

You can't get -20. There's only a thumbs-up button.

Regardless, new bug. Whenever I click on something that it's in a subforum (I.E., Absences/Event Planning) in the new posts, read it, and return to the main forum. However, the Forum will still say there's a new post 'til I go to the general forum (I.E., General Discussion/Storylines).

*Cough* Squirrel... I reported this one post above you. And yes, you can give negative reputation, despite the fact that the button is just a thumbs up. Click it on my post above and you will notice that you get to choose if you give Positive (+1), Neutral (Nothing) or Negative (-1) reputation. They are stashed in a combo box above the Reason text field. :)

Fail. I thought that was your signature and ignored it. Sorry!

Sometimes the black line between post and signature doesn't always appear. For example posts #16, 17, and 19+ have black lines. #22 has two for the double post. And #18 is blank.
The true test of his choice lies forward.

I am not sure if it's just me or something, but I get the following every now and then. When I refresh the page, it is okay again:
