I tried, but anything.. so far on any second page on the forum gives me an error. o.0 May have to post an error thread about that soon enough. It's like.. "LOLDENIED"

Hahaha it it's "LOLDENIED" it'll be a pain to find.. Ah well.
Quote:Naturally, and I actually love Pawn Stars. Watch it frequently on TV, they buy all kinds of stuff for either way too much or insanely cheap. *laughs*

Suddenly.. The idea of making a Pawn Shop comes to mind...

Quote:Makes me wonder about gems ; Malachite for example, has 1% drop rate from copper ore, but that's probably food for thought later.

Aye, gems are another story.. And then you got the blades and armor and accessories with gems in them.. Heh.. This is a rather large subject..

It is, it is. Good thing it doesn't have to be build in one day! *Laughs*

With gems comes also the prospecting skill, which increases the chances of finding said gem substantially. For armor and blades, the time spend into it also counts but if we can establish a 'rough' base value, people could work with that and see how much they charge themselves.

Going further down the list ; Mithril Ore, mining skill 150.

Quote:Mithril Deposits are most frequently mined in:

Badlands
Burning Steppes
Eastern Plaguelands
Felwood
Searing Gorge
Tanaris
Thousand Needles

Side lore comment;
Quote:By some, Mithril is one of the toughest ores in Azeroth. Mithril is often mined by the dwarfs. Therefore the Mithril order was found.

So, it takes some good strength to yank these little buggers out of the earth. Zones are more dangerous to travel through.. The ore is used for Mithril bars and the Lesser Stoneshield Potion

Two uses instead of one, I think that (Perhaps) adds to the value. Harder to come by, dangerous zones.. Question is, does it equal the value of silver or gold? (Can't be as cheap as copper coins at least)

I'd say it's more than gold, only because of the fact that it's.. Well.. I dont know XD

Actually.. Coming back a bit, looking at the Gold Coin value.

Quote:As a rare substance that is always in short supply, Gold must be dug out from the rock and soil within established Gold Mines. Many of these Mines were abandoned when the Orc raids began and the workers fled for their very lives.

Gold veins are a type of mineral deposit which can be mined at mining skill level 155. According to Thottbot, gold veins are mined most often in the Badlands, Burning Steppes, and Arathi Highlands

Source

One could say, that gold would be possibly more rare then Mithril. (Also takes 155 mining, Mithril takes 150)And that an actual gold bar (not looking at size/weight to not overly complicate it further) would be.. Quite an expensive thing.

So a mythril bar versus a gold bar.. Perhaps something like this then.

Gold bar- 20 gp

Mithril bar- 15 gp.

Mind you I dont mean this litterally, but something around this difference.

In Azroth, coins are around as big as bars of the same material. How else could they be worth roughly the same?

You have to realise there is not such an intricate economic system on Azeroth as there is on Earth. The coins are worth their weight. I would gladly buy a gold bar for two golden coins as a coiner and make it into twenty golden coins. However, if you would want to use this logic then prices would skyrocket.
Little by little, one travels far.

True, while there isn't much of a system yet. I thought it would be worth looking into an possible system as people are always like "We have to use IC munnies yo!" With that in my head, I wondered if it was possible to actually work out some "IC" values for the items within WoW. (So that any possible regular in-game items, could be worth something ICly) I probably should have made a clearer title (And expanded my post more, but I blame my browser for that which killed itself at time of writing) but hey.

That seems, however as major task. More then I realized upon posting it. *Laughs*

That said however.. It's probably indeed best to have bars and coins just be worth the same amount ICly. Else you'd easily melt slightly more expensive bars into more coins and make an easy profit. (Aka I'm agreeing with ya Errata) ^^ Still looking for more input on pretty much everything, although I'm considering at this stage due to lack of interest from everyone (Apart from the three people that posted in here. ;p) to just drop it.

On unrelated note ; They actually made WoW gold for collectors. Horde in the box, alliance coins at the side. Doesn't look like much admittedly. Source

Spoiler:

Quote:Each Horde and Alliance coin set comes in sets of three. The first is a 24 karat gold-plated slab (1.625-inch diameter), featuring the Human Military Leader of the Alliance: King Varian Wrynn of Stormwind. Second is a 1.375-inch diameter coin plated in sterling silver, featuring the Dwarven King: Magni Bronzebeard of Iron Forge. Last is a copper-plated coin (1.25-inch diameter) of the Night Elf High Priestess: Tyrande Whisperwind of Silvermoon.

Edit ; I forgot! Yay. *Gives cookies*
