Aye, I remember what a pain it was to be pestered to do events and stuff, especially when I had ya know, kids and a real life. The idea of "favorites", while it is true that everyone has friends, and a preference for what they want to do, is true, I can't say that it always means that this is going to be the case. A lot of GMs here seem to come up with events that are open to -anyone-, and not just a certain group, although I have heard a lot about GMs picking groups to work with and doing some major things with them as well.
Two things to remember, as Kag has said, these guys voulenteer their time to be here. It's a job based on having fun, which means a GM often chooses something they'll have fun doing. They will do this within their own time field, one that isn't mandated, or dictated by others.
Now this all being said, I don't think this is in poor taste... I think it's poorly timed. A year and a half ago this would have been a -great- thread to have, and I'd have had your full support, but the team is a bit different now than it was then, although the specifics about how well they are doing is all a mystery!
It seems like for the most part they are doin' good though. I don't think people should outright dismiss this post, as it's a good reminder, and it -could- be Kage trying to dispell some quieter talk that the GM folk aren't hearing.

It's actually that in itself. And more of a reminder to myself that I shouldn't be taking things so seriously on here as I sometimes do, and to others who may have the same problem as I do.

Wellll..event planning is hard and by times GMs are needed, but with a lot of luck and some skill (no wait, I don't have any) they can be pulled off without their help. And without turning in a four hours mass slogfest of battle and stuffs. If you're lucky.
I'll post more in this later, I'm eating spaghetti and it's NOT a good idea to type at the same time. My skirt is waaaasteeeeeed
