A series of Mini-guides
#1
Greetings, CoTham city.

After being in coth for a good while over two accounts (the first of which I totally forgot the name of after a huge break, which is why I made fort), Ive decided that, now I'm not trying to offend y'all, I am going to make a miniature series of guides called "How to play a ..."
I'm taking an older guide from the creators of lorecraft and updating it to coth timeline and correcting issues with spelling or slightly inaccurate information, as well as maybe a little coth specific lore. I'll be making them up tomorrow!

Also should I post up worgen and goblin information, even though we don't have them? Show me your general interest!

I like this idea. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact me.

Goblins and Worgen? You're better off skipping them. They might cause confusion for newcomers, and otherwise just take necessary space.
"Good roleplaying is not equivalent to saying that your character is not interested or molded for a certain situation.
Quite the contrary - good roleplaying is making up a reason for your character to do that thing, no matter the obstacles!"

I'm guessing lore-craft is another private server?

If so, I'd be very, very careful with taking something from there and trying to turn it into something for CoTH, given that CoTh does a lot of things differently than other server. Basically, why they may feel that playing one race a certain way is a the correct way, it may not be viewed that way here, or there may even be some obscure rule that goes against what is said in the guide.

It's hard to say what I'd think other than this without seeing the guide. Hopefully it looks good and whatnot, but be open to suggestions if people feel they are applicable.

Also, I agree with the post above, Goblins and Worgen aren't currently relevant to CoTH.

Lorecraft is a dedicated group that developed current information that was revolving around wow lore. That being dungeons, zones, races, classes, lore figures, and class-race relevance, yet to my knowledge they died maybe a year or so ago, unless they started up again somewhere else. Also, noted. I will skip worgen and goblin.

Just keep one thing in mind;

- SOURCES! Link Sources for everything there is a source for.

- Mark what is speculation or fanon on your part or anyone elses.

Fairly certain it's all sourced from the rpg books, wow wiki and a book on cults in wow called "dark" something. I'll try and root out where and if they have made anything up, but their goal as a group was to be absolutely accurate as possible.

Dark Factions. It's one of the sourcebooks. /nod.

Easiest way to pick up sources is to grab the lot of the sourcebooks/RPG books 'n read them. I can supply a torrent with the PDFs if you like.

EDIT: In fact, just get'em here.

Keep in mind, however, that the RPG books were de-canonized. They're good for flavoring, but I wouldn't necessarily state that everything in them is fact. There's been a number of inconsistencies and corrections we've had to make from RPG lore before.
Have you hugged an orc today?

I'm always a little wary when using information collected/gathered/written by other people because, well, it's their work. I'd feel significantly better if it was prominently stated somewhere in each of those guides that it's based on other people's efforts, even if only in part.

Good News, Everyone!

I contacted the head developer of Lorecraft and he was thrilled to know I would be posted his guides, and wants to have any constructive critisism and feedback so he can better develop his information and guides for the future!

Also,

I'll be noting that it isn't all my work and that some work will be from sources that may be decanonized but still noteworthy, and thank you for the books. I will really want for everybody to put in their two pennies on the mini guides so I can change them up. In fact, perhaps I'll put them up raw with corrections and have the community to help mould it into a correct coth-worthy guide, as I'm only one guy, and I don't know everything. c:
