I've been testing the worgen start area and bugs so far:
1. Gwen didn't show up immediately, delaying the start of the "Gather Supplies" quests and continuation of the questline after the first. She did eventually appear and give me the quest, and I could progress.

2. Evacuating the civilians - the Worgen in the houses were bugged to not chase the citizens out of the houses. This may or may not be related to a bug where it didn't register most evacuations - I evacuated 15 citizens to get it to count 3.

3. The second district in Gilneas seems completely devoid of worgen.

4. Rescuing Darius Crowley - When the timer started, Darius Crowley, being Darius Crowley, jumped over to the Chapel Roof to punch out all the Worgen as they spawned. While absolutely hilarious to watch, I cannot get him to come back over so I can complete the quest.

EDIT: Okay, Darius duplicated himself back at the quest point, so I COULD turn it in... he's standing there WHILE killing Worgen over on the Cathedral Roof, and the Bloodfang Worgen populated the courtyard properly when I went back down.

5. No Bloodfang Lurkers for my mastiff to attack, to complete the "From the Shadows" quest. I think it's a phasing/scripting issue, since Josiah Avery didn't "turn" into a Worgen, though I still got the bite debuff.

We're aware that (most) of the quests are essentially broken. One of the things we're struggling with when it comes to discussing whether a move will be worthwhile or not is that, no matter what, if we go to Cataclysm essentially all questing will be broken. Now, for folks like me, this isn't a big deal because we don't log on to CotH to quest anyway, but I do know that some folks do dailies and other quests to pass time between RPs. So, it's a question of what's more important.

Well, since these quests are essential to Worgen character progression, we need a Workaround to at least allow them to be bypassed and let the Worgen and Goblin characters be let into the greater world with all abilities intact.

The last time I checked out CotH's Cata test server (a few months ago), you could complete the quests where you get the Worgen form/leave the Goblin starting zone. Unfortunately, some of the racial abilities didn't work very well. I don't know many servers that got Running Wild down pat, though.

Aye, that's already likely able to be bypassed in much the way Death Knights can be shot through now.

Quest and a trainer or something, barring all else.

That being said, as Grakor mentioned many quests are broken. While it's likely that lower levels are spared due to their less intensive use of phasing and scripting (if I recall, we were able to get to STV fine before issues cropped up when I was testing a human), some areas are... very much compromised. Vash'jir, as one I noticed being particularly heavy hit, had many areas without NPCs at all.

Of course, as Grakor said this is then a debate between if questing should hold back a move. I've in the past stated that I would fully respawn the world one zone to make it RP compatible if necessary, and I totally still stand by that. To -me- I would be much more invested in a fully visually correct world, if one which had little to no capability for questing.

But, I am not representative of the entire server. I found questing and grinding to be a droll experience I was forced into in order to achieve new stuff back when I did it to get new RP gear for characters; I hated it, and I was not phased at all by its necessity being removed with .addrp items, though I do think that impacted the server in another way. So I'm not the best to speak on the merits of questing and the like.

As one of the people that will, from time to time, do a quest or a daily to pass the time, I can most definitely say that RP to me is more important than an idle hobby to pass the time between RP sessions. While they might be something enjoyable to fill an RP gap, it really isn't a necessity. The priority, at least in my mind, should be on RP with anything on either side of it coming after, and being considered less important.

Of course I'm by no means a die hard quester and generally do it on another server or game altogether, and like Rigley said I'm totally not representative of the whole server... Just myself and the opinions that come with me!

Let me represent the other side as I quest all the time using the money for stated items... I feel questing is useful and love questing. Whenever I get Rp gear that's statted I feel even further accomplished :P

By all means, it's fine to take time for y'all to try and find the best core thingie and stabilise it and clear out the sillyness, but ultimately the thing specific to CotH is much more rather that it is a quality RP Environment rather than its gaming Blizzlike experience. The first we can basically get only here really, the second we can get in quite a few places. Following my reading the thread, it's not sounding 50/50 to me at all.

Whatever the duration to switch, shift lead-ins into high gear ^^ .

In so far as testing goes, I advise tinkering with facets that may affect the server's consitency. Does the server react strangely when you equip rp gear while under the effect of X buff in y zone? Does your character achieve flight if they step off a particular cliff while auto walking? Basically, run around and do things that you may do through the course of a standard RP... and do things that you might never do. Keep your FPS tack on, any other performance settings that you have at your disposal as well. Scow2 used a particularly readable format to display is findings, I suggest posting in a similar fashion.

What I would advise against is any form of extend debate in the thread at this point. If you have an opinion on priorities, make a thread for such things. It will make it much easier to troubleshoot the client if we proceed in this manner. Grant it, my thoughts hardly exist as an official ruling on this matter, though the occasional burst of wisdom does make its way up from my spleen, usually in the form of a... what, you don't want to know? Fair enough.

(Made note of these while online but a list never hurts.)

DO NOT post guild events on the calender! It'll lock your client up.

Additionally, the functions for adjusting guild rank order are broken. (All other functions work fine.)

Darkspear Watchers in the troll starting area are stuck in combat mode. (Targeting nearby neutral cat mobs)

(I'll just use this as my list to keep the thread clean.)

Er guys..since we're testing and probably moving to a torrent-only version of downloading/updating to Cata, I should probably mention torrenting doesn't work on my PC, it always gives me an 'access is denied' error and I've never figured out how to fix that.
Hand me some feedback!

Doesn't the streaming client work just as well? I don't -think- that uses any torrenting, though you might have to find the manual patch to get it to 4.0.6a (don't quote me on this, though).
