Tier 14 -- Running out of ideas?
#16
Everything is so ridiculously colorful. It's like all of the master armorers of the WoW universe were clowns, and wanted to mold the world in their image.

Seriously though, it's no surprise that these are ugly. And you all know what they will do for the next three tiers to be added in through patches, and the PvP sets...

Recolors.

One of these days, I'll make my own WoW raid-tier armor set. It'll just be two gigantic shoulder pads that are four times larger than the player character. And they'll glow bright neon rave colors, pulsating to the drum of a techno beat. And they'll also be on fire. With floating crystals zooming around in a spiral. With a lens flare effect. And the helmet will just be a giant sword, stretching up 18 feet tall. And the sword will also be on fire. With glowing runes and dark mist and a car driving up and down the sword with the words "EXTREME" flickering on it.

And that'll be that. Nothing else. Just giant shoulder pads and a sword-helmet. The rest of the armor will be a purple cape that says "HERO MAN LVL 3000" and invisible gear.

I think they started running out of ideas when their go-to idea became "SET IT ON FIRE".

The female version will be rainbow tassels and a thong with the sword helmet. Pads will be null though, gotta show off those tassels.

I always thought it was good advice to take to heart...
Crazy2

Edit: Less coverage, by MMO laws, denotes more protection. Krent's armor would be for tanks.

... As much as I'd love to see Tier 15 looks nice and snug and mundane, the tier sets are kinda meant to (try) to look Badass or something like that... xD It's why they're meant for like... The reward for killing the end-boss of expansions and huge raids...

(This doesn't justify them making some of the sets look completely ridiculous) but still... Oh screw it, I can't really defend Blizzard's stance. It's Blizzard. They'll keep making strange sets until they can't think of how many ways a shoulderpad's main bar can bend at one time. And by that time it'll be like Tier 29.

The thing is that, like, they don't look badass. Most of them just look stupid. :/

Better than in LK, where all the Tier sets were dull and washed out in color!

On the plus side, I rather like the challenge mode gear.

...Erm. Well, minus the shoulders on most of them. The shoulders look kinda ridiculous on some. I especially like how they actually showed some goddom restraint on the particle effects.

For those who haven't seen:

Spoiler:
Death Knight: http://media.mmo-champion.com/images/new...inalDK.jpg
Besides the shoulders I kinda like this, though I'm skeptical as to how this would look on other races.

Druid: http://media.mmo-champion.com/images/new...lDruid.jpg
...Don't really know what to say. Would look better without the shoulders and headpiece.

Hunter: http://media.mmo-champion.com/images/new...Hunter.jpg
I like this if only for the shoulders. Just rip those off and slap them on an orc and that'd look -awesome-. ... Ironically for this list the shoulders are about all I like though. :B

Mage: http://media.mmo-champion.com/images/new...alMage.jpg
I kinda get what they were going for here, but the multicolor eyes are a bit weird. And the shoulders are huge. I honestly don't know how half of the characters in Warcraft can clear a doorframe.

Monk: http://media.mmo-champion.com/images/new...alMonk.jpg
I like it! Except the shoulders, again. Because they're massive. Would likely look better on a panda.

Paladin: http://media.mmo-champion.com/images/new...aladin.jpg
For some reason this gives me the vibe of something that would be summoned in an anime. Like a gundam or something.

Priest: http://media.mmo-champion.com/images/new...Priest.jpg
...I'm not -too- sure what to say about this one.

Rogue: http://media.mmo-champion.com/images/new...lRogue.jpg
I actually really like this set, especially the mist effect. Shoulders are kinda huge, again.

Shaman: http://media.mmo-champion.com/images/new...Shaman.jpg
OgodwhymustIcarrylogsonmyshoulders though besides that I think a troll in this set'd be neat.

Warlock: http://media.mmo-champion.com/images/new...arlock.jpg
I also kinda like the idea here, though I think it might look better on other races.

Warrior: http://media.mmo-champion.com/images/new...arrior.jpg
...I actually kinda like this. I've always liked that kind of helm design for some reason.

My opinion, at least. :B

Eh, the only ones I like are the the Shaman and Monk ones, as everyone else said the other ones look pretty generic. . .and bright. Really, Really bright. It seems whenever Blizzard releases a new tier of gear it has to be as flamboyant and "epic" as possible >_<, I miss when it was simple.

Only Atlas can carry the weight of the world on his shoulders. Him, and every level 90 WoW character.

Eh, I think they look pretty decent...

But if you don't like 'em, transmog 'em.

(In my head, all I'm hearing is how everyone on retail complained about each tier, praising the one before it.)

The DK is awesome just for not being BLOOD AND BLACK. The shoulders have a weird shape (why so horizontal?), but I love the helm.

The druid robe looks great, but again with the horizontal shoulders. I like the hood, though.

Mage is AWESOME. Especially the hat.

Monk is nice, but the shoulders don't streamline at all.

Paladin is freaking insane and I love everything about it oh my goooood.

Priest is... interesting. I'd have liked the head better if it was a hat and not a collar.

Rogues? having a good set? WHAT. And there's the ninja theme!

Shaman is... interesting. The tikis make me think trolls, but the shouldertotems as a whole make me think Tauren. Derp.

Warlock is crazy. That helm makes Maelific look humble!

Warrior is awesome, and has great shoulders.

And idk what that extra warrior set is, but it's great too!
