*Cough* Uh.. Sol.

Quote:I was thinking a more personal touch, but I wanted to try the vague effects everyone before I started doing personal histories.

As in, you play your character during a lore event, not it's based around your character :3

Though, I'll stick with past lore events *nod*

-Edit-

And this isn't going into the past to fix stuff! This is to actually rp the past as the past, without Bronze Dragon voodoo.

Actually, there's no fixing of past events in mine. It's keeping Life events going the way they were meant to/the way they did. Yours is retroactive RP (which brings me back to the "It's going to be limiting in terms of who is going to be in what event"). Both do a "reliving" as it were.

Oh! I didn't see your post there actually.

I have thought about this. Quiet a bit. My mindset so far has been characters working together, but not really knowing who the other is. Then I thought of something else. People have edited their characters history to add in other players characters as family members/friends. So I would leave this part to the player. They can create bonds in the past that could have been forgotten (Trust me, I forget some of my friends a lot, which does indeed suck) or just be aquatints who work together.

As for this, wasn't Heartglen much of the same way? Unless I'm reading this wrong, the Heartglen events were based on the fact that Cata has the argents having took over the city and claimed it for the living (And forsaken), but many had fun with them.

The basic steps of this first event would be an introduction. The intro would be the initial corruption of the orcs. Then the attack on the Draenei. and continue to the eventual loss of the orcish horde and back down to the warring of the clans. Then war number two, internment camps, and ending with the freedom of the orcs and the travel with the trolls to Kalimdor.

I actually have done this on Kirabo and Taelynn. Roleplaying some sections from their history. The reason is simple;

When I see a character's history, I see it as a book. A book with limitless details, each page written with heaps of care and effort, explaining every single detail of every single second of their past. Writing the profile, however, I can't do that for many a reason. I'll name the two obvious ones - First, I don't want to bother the GMs with reading mega-texts which hold no real value whatsoever. Secondly, why write about waking up, having breakfast, training, having lunch, socializing, having dinner, reading a book and then sleeping? That's not what World of Warcraft is about. It's about adventure, magic, war(craft)!

Either way, yes. If you do this, I will most certainly participate, since it -is- a black line in the current monotonous white plane that CotH's become.

Honestly? I would love to co-DM or help with First War and Second War encounters. Because I mean really, aren't those two wars the coolest of all of them? Less cliche 'OH NO THE FORSAKEN BETRAYED OUR POSSIBLE ALLIANCE AND THE SCOURGE IS JUST KINDA KILLING EVERYTHING AND WE CAN'T STOP THEM' and more grim-dark 'SAVE OUR RACE FROM EXTINCTION'.

I think there are some interesting possibilities with this. There are some interesting time periods that could be covered.

-Blood Elves: A flashback to right after the Sunwell is destroyed. There is a ton of character understanding and development that can come from people playing the point where their arcane addictions are out in the open and bare, as well as how they find their way to deal with their cravings.

-Dwarves and Gnomes: Post Gnomeregan, an RP about Gnomes moving into Ironforge. Gnomes dealing with their loss, Dwarves possibly varying on their feelings about it (though it was overwhelmingly positive, there were initial misunderstandings about why the Gnomes were so absent in the Third War.

-Draenei and Orcs: The arrival of the Draenei on Draenor. Many Draenei could be themselves, coping with their new home. Orcs could play their ancestors, differing on how to co-exist with these newcomers.

-Orcs and Humans: The camps. I think this one is pretty self explanatory, though the only question mark is for those who were children in the camps.

Just some ideas to throw around!

Hmm...Groshner's life back when the humans captured her? That'd be some fun RP to me :3

I've given the concept quite a bit of thought before posting and I've come to the conclusion that such an event would HAVE TO occur in a phazed zone/s and would require a hefty work load on the part of the staff. Lore events were propogated by lore figures which need to be puppeted responsibly. Additionally, total war seems to be the theme of much of the early lore events, requiring a large quantity of spawns in regards to armies and static modifications. While I believe such an undertaking would be beneficial both to player characters' respective histories and the players themselves, (Better knowledge of past events as well as the development of creative writing techniques.) I would truely disdane seeing something of this calibur handled in a haphazard manner or taken lightly by the player base or in regards to historical accuracy. I recommend a large amount of planning before any form of lore reinactement is attempted lest we regret it later. Aside from that... Count me in if you need any assistance.

Well, I know Groshner's would be rather easy seeing as she has no history in war :P
