Ark vs. Trinity

I'd have to agree with Anski and Xigo. Even though I have played on neither server, strictly speaking from a player stand point and someone who played through retail. I believe the server would make due with a few cons as opposed to a ton of cons, and not everything needs to be open right away for the player base we can ease into it (sorta gives it a real feel if ya think about it, no one darts off into a newly doomed world guns blazin... there's shock, despair, the oh sheeet my front yard is gone replaced by an active volcano... OMG DEATHWING! *death*) Anyways I'm just as eager to get into Cata as the next player, I just don't wanna sacrafice the already good time I have for a bleh time without my Mac users! >.< lol. With that said I'm confident in the epic GM team as I always am and I'm thankful for all the hard work you guys are doing to make this possible for us. Much love, the Grog has spoken. For the Horde.

Ark because we got a ton of mac users. A switch to trinity whenever the client for mac comes out would be nice. I would rather have a working race when Cata hits instead of waiting for a month until the race finally works.

I'm leanin' towards a Trinity vote. In short, the opportunities for growth are greater, more meaningful, and less disruptive to the server.

Unfortunately, it gives our Mac-users an almighty headache. From what I've read, they're not outright excluded, it's just that the method for getting the client to work is unstable and difficult.

I think Ark -> Updated Trinity would be the way to go, and the will of the major populace. If we're anyway waiting for a server that works properly, we might as well use one that will allow as many as possible to enjoy the little we have. Yes?

Yea, it's looking like Ark then Trinity down the road. Will the switch mean re-rolling everything when the time comes?

I vote for Ark. Looks better for now. ((Wrote in a hurry, couldn't really explain further.))

This is the natural implication of any core change, yes, unfortunately.

Having looked around both cores, I can say that they both have their problems, but they're both brimming with potential all the same, and they're the best we're going to get. I wouldn't call it a choice between ebola and the plague - more like a choice between strawberry ice cream and chocolate, when your favourite flavour is vanilla. (Surely I'm not the only one who has suffered from this before. Guys?)

However, if we have to leave anyone behind when we make this switch, I'm not cool with it. So I'd like to see us on Ark first.

That's as far as my assessment goes, really.

I'm going to weigh in with my vote for Ark over Trinity at the moment. I'm a PC user (although I'm a certified Apple tech, go figure), and even I'm having trouble getting any one of the multiple 4.3.4 clients I've downloaded to not explode in my face.

To reiterate, Ark is the superior choice under current circumstances. Nothing on Trinity particularly effects me personally. I don't really want to play a Worgen, and I play on a PC. I'll stick with my orcs, elves, goblins, and undead. However, I still feel a switch to Trinity first instead of Ark would be inconsiderate towards our players who those things do effect heavily.

My vote's on going with Ark first, and then switching to Trinity later down the road. Unless there are some able coders on the GM team willing to work on hammering out the kinks in Trinity, I'd say it's the least painful option. Never to mention the Mac users would be able to stay with us.

Things are going to be rocky at first no matter which way you end up slicing it, but if we want to update it's a sacrifice that the server as a whole will have to make. It's just a point of picking out which would be easier to deal with in the beginning.

I think it's in the best of our interests to pick Ark.
Hand me some feedback!

Ark then Trinity. I don't want to leave Mac users out until Trinity is fixed up.
