So far, my biggest hate has been when you have to run across the bridge being destroyed by two helicopters. I'd just die in the exact same place every time no matter what I actually did. I tried running straight, jumping over cars, cutting through cars, running on both the left and right side of the bridge and jumping at the point where I always died but nothing seemed to work. Then on my seventh or something try, it just randomly worked for no apparent reason.

What messed me up on the bridge was the camera. I couldn't tell which direction to move the stick to make him run forward. Blade Wolf was also an exceedingly difficult fight with parrying (for me) working on pure luck. I noticed when my sister started playing her game on easy mode, it offers a parry assist option. I wish that was available on normal difficulty also...

Blade Wolf was no difficulty for me, just because I played the demo like three times.

I didn't get the demo, sadly. Monsoon was next for me to have difficulty with. I'm still not sure how I made it through that fight.

I haven't had that much problem yet, actually, save for that one bridge part. Mastering Zandatsu and parry enables you to get through pretty much anything the game throws at you. Defensive offense helps too.

I still can't seem to figure out the parry. Perhaps with more practice in VR missions I might be able to figure it out. I know the basics but it never really works for me.

The thing is that, like most Japanese hack n' slash games, the games assumes that you're always keeping the stick in a neutral position. To do a parry, you need to flick the control stick from a neutral position towardsthe direction of the oncoming attack and press square/X. If you're already tilting the control stick, you need to quickly let it reset to it's neutral position and then do the parry. The window for doing a parry is actually quite freaking big, but it won't work unless you have the stick in it's neutral position. Took me a while to figure out, then I remembered it was the same with that one counter ability from Bayonetta and after that it became easier.

I also recommend the "defensive offense" skill if you haven't gotten it already. It's basically a sidestep that can be performed in any direction while you're also doing an attack. It's good because it also breaks any animation you're currently doing. It's what I use to avoid the attacks that you can't parry, such as grabs.

@Roxas65 I never would've thought of that... And I think I have that skill unlocked by now. I'll have to look. Maybe it'll help me on that final boss fight I'm still stuck on.

@Beltharean That article.

So I read today that there are issues with Ground Zeroes. Apparently some pretty messed up crap takes place in that game and Hideo Kojima is not sure the game is acceptable for release due to it. He didn't say what it was that was so upsetting but a delay, as these elements of the game are changed, is probably the least we can expect from it.

Now I'm curious as of to what the original script dictated. Messed up as in game mechanic or messed up as in ethically messed up and won't get past weird Japanese censors?

The latter, I would imagine.

EDIT: Or both. I remember the new Splinter Cell getting an assload of heat for a demo where Sam tortures a dude by shoving a knife into him right above the collarbone, and then letting the player do the job by moving the knife around with the analog stick. It's not impossible that Ground Zeroes would have something similar. Also, I remember Kojima mentioning it was more than just one instance.

Mistral is an awesome boss fight.
Perhaps it is your imperfection that which grants you free will, that allows you to persevere against cosmically calculated odds. You prevailed where the Titans' own perfect creations have failed.
