Just throw me a hollar in-game and we'll set it up!
Do you have what it takes to join the Fighting Blues?
Do you have what it takes to defend your homeland?
Will you stand up in defense of the innocent? The weak?
Will you stand up in defense of Justice and the Law?

The following is a list of code-phrases that can be used for both squad names, location names, and for what the phrases are described as below! This is a Stormwind-aligned version of the traditional US Military 'Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, etc.'

Arathor - Used to call out that reinforcements have arrived.

Bolvar - Designates to comrades that the situation will likely be a last stand.

Cromwell - Used by COs to call out that they're surrounded by enemies.

Deadmines - Used to designate that an enemy position is heavily fortified and will likely take a lot of flak to take it.

Elwynn - Designates friendly territory ahead of the unit.

Faol - Designation for a friendly force nearby that can aid.

Garithos - Designates traitors or deserters from the company/squad. Use very lightly.

Heretic - Used to designate the need for non-lethal engagement. The non-lethal engagement is limited to knocking out the opponents. If the opponent returns to combat, combatants are permitted to eliminate.

Ilgalar - Used to designate an enemy force of magic/enemy position that's full of enemy magics. Can also be used to point out a friendly mage is corrupted or possessed. i.e; 'We've got an Ilgalar, sir'

Jangolode - Used to reference a location that's been taken by the enemy.

Karazhan - Commonly used with a 'Codemark' in front, this code is used to designate a situation that the squad/company is entering that is unknown. Intel is scarce, but all that's known is that there's likely to be hard-hitters.

Lothar - Used to designate that the acting CO of the mission is down. Does not always mean dead, can mean unable to continue command. i.e; seriously injured and/or knocked out.

Mara - Used to call in clerics when not wanting to deliberately give off to the enemy that healers are going through the open.

Northshire - High priority friendly structure. Make sure it doesn't collapse.

Onyxia - Used to designate a target that is to be eliminated at -all- costs. i.e; 'That Lich is an Onyxia! Blow up that half of the town if that's what it takes to kill it!'

Park - Used to designate a lost cause. Some may also just shout 'Run like hell!'.

Queen - Used to designate a fortification that needs to be taken and defended at all costs.

Redridge - Refers to the region/zone as an active warzone. Expect there to be a lot of fighting when the company/squad arrives at the location.

Skybreaker - A codeword to confirm either that air support is incoming or has arrived. Can also be used to call out that enemy air support is visible.

Turalyon - Used to designate a company/squad that is currently MIA.

Uther - Commonly used with a 'Priority' in front, this code is used to designate that the mentioned targets are to be protected at all costs.

Vereesa - Designates artillery and/or severe ranged support targets.

Wrynn - Same as Priority Uther, but used to designate the needed protection of a single target.

Xander - A codeword for 'scatter for cover'. i.e; 'We're under some serious fire! Xander!'

Yokel - A term used to designate enemy combatants, commonly used for orcs.

Zandalar - Used to call out the need for an ambush. Can also be used to call out about your unit being ambushed.

So if Stormwind actually gets attacked, will you guys bother to actually try to defend it? Because there are a lot of guilds on retail that are like this and are conveniently nowhere when Stormwind gets attacked

I would presume, if Stormwind (or any of the towns under its sphere of influence) were to fall under some sort of attack on CotH, it would be in the form of a formal event planned out here on the forums, at which point The Stormwind Army would have ample time (OOC) to prepare themselves and to ensure that they will indeed be conveniently right on hand (or at least not too far away) when the city is threatened.

It's a little more challenging, I'd imagine, to defend Stormwind on retail where you've got 25+ man raid groups full of Hordies marching through the back gate unannounced at low-population server hours and rushing straight to Wrynn's house to tank-and-spank his face in. :p

It was just rather laughable on retail to see all these guilds boasting about how army-like they are or how they are supposed to be all about protecting the Alliance... then there is no one when crap hits the fan

To answer the question about if "Stormwind was attacked, would we come to the rescue?"

Well, should that ever happen, I would like to be able to. However the Army (or rather the IC faction in it, The Elwynn Battalion) is locked in combat on the island of Tol Barad.

"What about the portals on TB?"

Well, that is a tricky thing. For one, I am unsure if those are ICly there. The Elwynn Battalion, and the Horde equivalent, arrived via Ships. And if those portals are there ICly, well maybe. However it would still be difficult to keep a portal up long enough for enough soldiers to make it through to aid.

I would be interested to give aid to Stormwind and her territories at some point in the future, but it is not likely to happen in the near future.

Yeah - if they're even there ICly (which can be a little bit disputed), they're definitely for big names. I talked to the GMs about this a while back and the idea was that they're pretty much there for gameplay reasons.

Move him into the sun—
Gently its touch awoke him once,
At home, whispering of fields half-sown.
Always it woke him, even in France,
Until this morning and this snow.
If anything might rouse him now
The kind old sun will know.

Think how it wakes the seeds,—
Woke, once, the clays of a cold star.
Are limbs, so dear-achieved, are sides,
Full-nerved—still warm—too hard to stir?
Was it for this the clay grew tall?
—O what made fatuous sunbeams toil
To break earth’s sleep at all?

Not at current, I'm afraid. However, you can still a soldier of the Stormwind Army in lore, though if you want a ranked soldier, it'll have to wait until gruntship for the special profile.
