First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
Hello there! I have recently become engrossed in the marvelous world of fantasy RPG. A group of my personal friends took me into their pathfinder group and ever since then I’ve been enthralled by role playing and character creation/development. My pal Ronin, a member of your group, invited me to try out this forum and to try my hand at role playing in the Warcraft-verse. I had played WoW somewhat when it first came out and enjoyed it thoroughly, however, I was never able to engross myself as deeply into the world as I would have liked. Now that I have more experience in character creation and fantasy games, I jumped at the opportunity to try my hand at some serious role playing. I have always had a good mind for creating characters and worlds of my own, including creating a few of my own series throughout the years. From Tales to Pokémon, from DnD to TSW, and even through games of my own creation, I have shaped my extensive imagination, and now that the opportunity to join an already well developed world of experienced RPG players as arisen, I am ready to do my best to join you and your community!

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I am from the US, and I speak mostly just English.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
I used to play WoW with a friend growing up, as well as the occasional game of Warcraft 2 and 3. However, I am rather unfamiliar with the Warcraft world as of right now, but my friend Ronin (who suggested this server to me) has taken me in as his Warcraft “apprentice” and is showing me what I don’t already know about the lore and format of Warcraft.
How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
My friend Ronin, who has been a member of this group for a few years now, recommended that I look into your group. He and I have played a lot of pathfinder/DnD since I joined his gaming group and seeing that I show promise as an RPG player, he guided me to this forum and is now introducing me to the incredible world of Warcraft.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
Roleplay that involves character development, especially when it includes having a story and progression.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
Blood elves. I tend to really like their style, both personal and architectural. They’re ascetically appealing, and from what I’ve seen I like the horde’s style as a whole. As for class, when I played the game I mained a hunter, which was pretty neat. I’m still learning the lore of everything, but I have an excellent teacher.

What are your expectations of this server?:
Fun, adventure, and great characters!

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
I really appreciate the tolerance of the community for RPing lasting as long as the players feel comfortable. While I intend to go all out for my characters to come, I do have other responsibilities and playing with people who understand this (and won’t hold it against me/others for having to back out of games when things unexpected things happen to come up). On top of this, having a community that respects it’s player’s opinions and ideas is encouraging, for I am one to think “outside the box”, so to speak.
Also, the idea of a world filled with only serious and devoted gamers/role players sounds intriguing!

Did you know that we have a Mentor Program? It's entirely voluntary and you as a new player can sign up for it right now in your introduction! Are you interested in signing up to be assigned a Mentor? If so, say so here (Please enter at least "Yes" or "No"):
No, my friend is helping me already, thanks.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
"Come now, my dear. You don't really want to hurt me, do you?" Elise whispered into the dark man's ear. He was an assassin, no doubt hired by Gilman, just as the last two were.
At the sound of her voice, the man shivered, his blood running cold. He tried to step closer, but found his feet rooted to the ground.
"W-what have you d-done to me?" He groaned. She took a step back, surveying him. It was harder to talk now; even harder to move. His short knife had perched, inches away from the woman's breast, yet, he couldn't bring himself to stab her. It had always been so easy. Killing had come as naturally to the man as breathing. Yet here she stood, this slender, slip of a woman. Untouchable.
She smiled as his face began to turn red with the struggle. Even in the low light of her house, his discomfort was a clear.
"R-release me, wi-witc-" She cut him off with her right index finger pressing softly to his dried out lips.
"Enough of that, my dear. You and I are going to play a little game, here are the rules:
Rule number one: I am going to ask you questions, and you will answer me with a nod or with a shake."
At this, the assassin groaned, struggling against his intangible bonds. His left eye began to pulse and then blood began to drip from it, as several blood vessels popped violently. He moaned softly from the pain.
"See, you should have listened to all the rules before you start playing." She chided softly. Grinning, she continued. "Rule number two: refusal to answer will result in pain, as you have already discovered. Now, you were hired by a gentleman named Gilman, were you not?"
The man glared at her for a second, then shook his head stiffly. Her eyes narrowed and the man felt another throbbing pain, this time in his right eye. He tried to scream, but only managed a small, tight moan.
"And that brings us to rule number three: Answering dishonestly will also result in pain."
The assassin glare was murderous now, as blood dripped from his right eye. This had just been a job, he had had nothing against the mark. But now he dreamed of cutting her slowly, intimately, until she begged for death.
"When I get fff-free, I'm g-gonna make you wish you had never been born!" He snarled and for second, he seemed to be free of the witch's spell. He tried to lunge forward with his knife hand, but froze, mere centimeters away from pale skin.
At this, Elise's grin turned into a beaming smile. She would have looked beautiful , if it wasn't for the cold malice in her sharp red eyes. She leaned back and laughed a soft high laugh, as cruel as the man's thoughts of vengeance. His glare faltered then, as he realize...she was playing with him.
"Right then, let’s try this again." She recovered, her eyes never once leaving his now blood streaked face. "Did Gilman send you?"
He nodded. And felt some of the pressure leave his throbbing eyes.
"Good. Is he here in town?"
He began to shake his head, then thinking better if it, nodded.
"Must I remind you of the third rule of our little game?"
He felt the pressure retune to his eyes and he shook his head vigorously. All thought of revenge was gone, replaced by cold hard fear. He shook his head furiously. She studied his face for what felt like minutes, then grudgingly she nodded and the man let out a relieved groan as the pain receded slightly.
"Very well, do you know where he is now?"
He paused and then shook his head.
"Can you find him?"
He nodded confidently. He had overheard Gilman saying that he would be staying in the city for a few more days. It would take some time, but he could do it.
"This was good." She thought to herself, smiling at his eagerness. "He's a strong one."
The other two men Gilman had sent had cracked before she even got to the third rule...or was I the second? It didn't matter. This man showed promise.
"Alright then" She breathed, stepping towards him as she brushed his knife hand to the side. "I think that you are ready for rule number four."
Before he knew what was happening, Elise was kissing him, long and passionately. As she did, he felt all of his pain fade into blissful oblivion. His eyes began to drain from their hard brown to a soft, smokey gray. Then, she broke away, leaning in close to whispered in his ear.
"You are mine now; till death and beyond, you will serve me. Now, find Gilman. Bring me his heart, and I shall love you for it, my dear...oh, I suppose I should give you a name" She paused, then smiled and continued; “Weston will do nicely.” She patted his cheek affectionately, then sat and began to pour a large glass of wine. Freed of her enchantment, the assassin started toward the door, the thought of his new task bright in his now blissfully clouded mind. And as he stepped into the night, knife in hand and death upon his lips, he smiled.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
Thank you for the opportunity to role play, there are few worlds available to really delve into without extraneous effort and a consistent group.

Hello, Quin, and welcome to COTH!

If you haven’t already, please do make sure to double-check the rules and policies so you’re for sure familiar to the server’s expectations! If you have further questions, I recommend giving this guide a read, as it contains a lot of helpful information for players who are new to the server. Also, if you haven’t already, make sure to register your in-game account in the Account Management page using the same information you registered your forum name under. As for downloading the correct client and other things that you need to do in order to connect, I recommend giving this a read, as I found it very helpful myself when we made the switch to Cataclysm.

As for making your first character, there are a lot of helpful articles and guides for you to read up on in case you don’t fully understand the lore. The wiki also contains helpful tips for making a character and for when you’re writing your first profile, such as scale and height.

When you get your account created, make sure to /join Chat and /join Barrens in-game for if you have any questions not answered in the forums. Feel free to send me a message if you need any assistance, and I’ll give if a reply as soon as I can! And if not me, any Overseer, GM, or Forum Helper.

While Blood Elves aren't my favorite race, I agree that they have some fascinating architecture: it's my favorite of all the playable races.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the story, the style of the narration gave it a very cinematic feel, and I could picture everything that was going on. It makes me want to know more about what the extent of Elise's power is, and what the future holds for the newly named Weston.

I am glad to be able to declare you an official member of the community - you seem to be brimming with fun and enthusiasm - qualities I look forward to seeing in your RP.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy your stay!
