New Skype Chat policies.
#1
Hello, it is me Ieuan. I made this thread after a recent controversy in the COTH official Skype chat, and decided that the vague ideas being thrown about should be put to good use.

Some suggestions include more drastic kicking policies, while my own personal one is a clarification on some of the rules.

I and a few others were discussing the limitations to the rules, as some of it was rather vague. For instance, we were talking about Drug Usage being a topic, and discussed what it meant in this context, and if it was al right to mention RP drugs, non recreational drugs and others. It seemed to cause a controversy where the topic of drastic action occurred, so I've made this thread in order for everyone to throw in there ideas and for us to hopefully reach a more clear conclusion, though I do think some of these ideas and concepts could flow over to the actual server depending on what we reach.

I, personally anyway, think that everything concerning adult subject related is best left off in private, one on one chats in or in a chat where you -know- everyone is OK with the subject. If a subject is about to escalate in a heated topic, it is best for -all- participants to drop it from public and go to private one on one chats/PMs/Whisper/whathaveyou. Furthermore, I believe that if anyone asks to drop a certain subject (No matter how unoffensive it may be to you), it should be dropped immediatly.
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive. I'm not afraid of dying. Everyone has their time. Life never favored weakness.

Welcome to the pride!

I'd like to suggest a separate chat being made in which individuals can join and talk about things that would usually be considered not allowed on CoTH. This would stop the influx of inappropriate chat on the offical skype group and save others from having to see it that in fact, do not wish to see such things.

Don't think such is required; People can do so on their own accord. All it would do is make an official-break-the-rules-CotH-chat as it would allow to talk about things, against normal policies, with a GM keeping track of it. :T

Seems a bit double when one can just make their own groups on Skype, include the people they want and chat about it away from those that don't want to see such subjects. Am I misunderstanding the suggestion there? @Jameston . Got the idea you wanted a second chat for the whole CotH. May just be derping up.

People have always had the freedom to make their own chats. If they don't like CotH's rules of discussion and want to talk about things like drugs and politics then they should feel free to do so in an unofficial group and ask people to leave that group if they have a problem with it. The official skype CotH chat is just that: official. This is the only place where the team can enforce CotH's chat rule policies on skype.

If things turn out to be more than just discussion and people start harassing and threatening each other in private chats, that's a different subject and something that does need to be addressed if the two individual are going to coexist on the server.
