Salutations, People of blades and books!

First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
I am a nerd residing in the sunny side of the south-eastern United States. I've been a gamer for a long as I can remember, and pretty sure I might have been born with a controller in my hand. I have a love for most things gaming, an expanding taste in music, an enjoyment of goofing about randomly with the people I consider friends.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I hail from the United States of America, with English being my primary (and..only) language.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
I originally started off as a big fan of Diablo 1. At a friend's birthday, I was introduced into another Blizzard game, Starcraft and got into it big time. Eventually a new RTS came out, known as Warcraft 3, which I also became a big fan of. I had seen bits of WoW, but after eventually trying it out on a friend's account, I decided to jump into my own account. Aaand there went several years of my life.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
I was told of this play by a good friend of mine, known here as Lireesa :)

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I've done numerous types with several different characters. I suppose my favorite ends up being the kind that really gets into the depths of a characters mentality, where situations aris that really make you question what that character stands for, and what he's willing to do when eyes are upon him, or when noone is watching. I like the idea of a character growing and having an influence placed on him, or even influencing the lives or experiences of others. Something that breathes true life into roleplaying.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
For the longest time, my main combo has been a Blood Elf and Death knight. I love the rough and brutal style of the Death knights and I've played my Blood elf as an honorable character. A bit of class, but humble due to past training as a paladin. But I've also had tons of experience playing human characters, because naturally it's what I know best. I have always had a fondness for rogue's as well. Sometimes not even the actual playstyle, but just for the archetype of character you can make. I like someone can be sociable.

What are your expectations of this server?:
Uh, I don't really know. I've never done a private server before, but I'm told everyone is quite friendly, so I suppose that would be my expectation. To meet some friendly and enjoyable players.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
I like the ideas put forth under Humility. I like the thought that, not everyone has to have the attention on them. That everyone can have a time to shine, because in many instances of roleplaying or even in certain roleplaying guilds, players won't always get a chance to stand out and be special.

Did you know that we have a Mentor Program? It's entirely voluntary and you as a new player can sign up for it right now in your introduction! Are you interested in signing up to be assigned a Mentor? If so, say so here (Please enter at least "Yes" or "No"):
No thank you!

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
Stormwind could be quite a gorgeous landmark when you stopped to give it a proper lookover. Sure, some people may only get to see the grit and grime of Old Town, especially if you're one of the young orphans and forced to make ends meet by means not favored by the local guard. But if you can find a way up. Up above the buildings where there's true sunlight. How it breaks past the massive cathedral. How the first beams of the light of dawn skates across the lake. It can be breath taking.

Of course, it can be difficult to stop and appreciate such things when being chased by the local guard, primarily for doing things not favored by them in an attempt to make ends meet. Or for chatting up that nice woman who apparently was of nobal decent. Hey, if her husband were doing his job, maybe she wouldn't have responded so nicely. But I suppose that's something best left to imagination. Always best to focus on the here and now. And of that arrow that zipped by a little too close for comfort.

The best part of growing up as an orphan, is you get incredibly familiar with the surrounding areas. Light knows that orphanage is impossible to grow in. So naturally you explore the the alleyways, the sewers, even the rooftops if you can manage a decent foothold. With nothing much to do as a kid, or at least a kid that never really clicked with magic or his studies, I just explored Stormwind. As the more comfortable I got, the better at traversing the landscape I wanted to be. That and it helped when trying to run from a shop owner. It was just an apple! And all I wanted it for was to give as a gift to one of the Matron's that took care of us.

Really, it was never about stealing or taking things. Yeah, sometimes you'd get really hungry and you'd need something to help tide you over. Or you wanted to give a gift..but gold is hard to come buy as a young boy. No, what always made his eyes glimmer with joy, was the sheer adventure in all of it. The thrill of having to run your young legs off, less you get caught. I suppose it was always that part that struck him the most. That and you know, not getting a whooping was preferable. In fact, the more he did it, the better he got. Sometimes he wasn't even noticed. But he always hoped he might. Well, not this time. This kinda sucked. How was he supposed to know this SI:7 letter was important? But, it could be worse. He could be fishing.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
I like cake. :)

Throm'ka, potential recruit!

You have taken a tremendous step with this submission! You will receive an 'official' response in due time, but meanwhile you may wish to ensure you've reviewed the following:
  • Rules (Remember, ignorance is no excuse in the case of rule-breaking! Don't make the Peon Overseers lash you with the whip any more than necessary!)
  • Policies (There are some policies that may be rather uncommon, so if you have not yet checked them then spare a moment to do so!)

Some extra reading that may be of use:
Soon, you should receive a reply to your submission from one of the Peon Overseers informing you of whether you are a suitable candidate for Peonship. Be patient! Just review the above information and a response will come before you know it! As an aside, I think Peon PhantomLink has an... er... 'interesting' ring to it, eh?

Welcome to CotH, @PhantomLink

@Lireesa, you say? Well you two better play nice 'round these parts! Beat Up

Humble characters (and players!) make things run smoothly. It may even open up more fulfilling roleplay after the heroics is past. Sometimes they even get cake!

Since Kortok listed off the basics, I'd like to point you to a newbie guide that can also help ease you in. Even before your client is finished downloading, you can (and should!) register your in-game account in this Account Management page. Make sure you use the same information that you registered your forum name under. If you're feeling up to it, you can begin writing out a character profile using this template. There are many helpful articles and guides both on the wiki and forums.

If you have any problems or questions, feel free to contact any of the fancy colored staff members!
The true test of his choice lies forward.
