Username/Password Incorrect or Unable to Validate Game

No matter what I seem to do, these to problems always pop up when I try to log into the server. I've been trying for a few days as well and have constantly searched through the forums, wiki, and FAQ for an answer; but any close to this problem don't seem to help mine.
I've already posted an approved introduction, changed realmlist to coth.game-host.org
set patchlist coth.game-host.org
and put it in the (C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Data\enUS) folder.
Current updates and downloaders include:
WoW-3.0.2.9056-to-3.0.3.9183-enUS
WoW-3.0.3.9183-to-3.0.8.9464-enUS
WoW-3.0.8.9464-to-3.0.8.9506-enUS
Current updater is 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 (If this is the 3.0.8 update everybodies been advising other topics to use. I feel stupid and would like to know).
I've deleted my cache several times and open up windows via WoW.exe. I figured the problem was just my password. So I was graned a temporary password change. Recent attempts have failed. If it helps any, I am currently using a Windows XP with a Vista branded CPU. (which could also be the problem, not sure).
If I could get any detailed instructions on how to fix anything I might of overlooked or advice on what else I need to do, it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you at '3.0.8' or '3.0.8a'? That makes a big difference.

I am at 3.0.8a and it still works fine for me. Atleast for playing.

Honestly I have no idea how to check if I do. I was assuming that I had 3.0.8 due to the fact the downloaders went past it.

Feel kinda stupid and checked the patch notebook in main folder. I have patches 3.0.8, 3.0.8a, and 3.0.9.

Try starting WoW, when you're at the log-in screen just look at the lower left corner of the screen and you should see the version of WoW you're using.

Password Incorrect probarly means that you don't have the realmlist right, do keep in mind that everytime you patch it changed the realmlist back to normal.

It says I'm using version 3.0.9. Does anybody know how I can switch it to version 3.0.8a or 3.0.8? (Have checked realmlist a few times by now thank you for the fast responses, though. This forum has been really amazing in wanting to help ^^ Which I'm very serious about, in case it seems like I'm being sarcastic.)

I think you need to either reinstall-- But I would wait until the server patches back up. You're not the only one, a friend of mine got up to 3.0.9, and he has to wait.

Or possibly just de-patch by deleting some MPQ file and then use the repair function, someone else would have to specify what files/documents that you need to delete though, as I have no clue.

Okay depatching wasn't to hard. Turns out I overshot the current server patch. Was pretty simple to for such a persistant problem, hehe.
