I actually favour Hogral's idea much more than using whatever blizzard put in place, because we can then use these gold pieces to actually have wealth represented as opposed to running around with piles of IC gold. The purpose of the economy shouldn't be to get peons gear, as that happens OOCly anyway, but rather to create an interesting RP environment, and to promote the creation of more money hungry organizations and characters. But yeah, it's all pretty iffy on if it would work, still, I'd support giving it a shot.

Provided an IC Currency is implemented, I doubt it'd have any real impact on the way people get gear, or help each other get gear (Peons would most likely still get help with getting it, free of charge, etc...)

It'd rather be a way to put a system on how you judge your IC wealth, and how you purchase IC services and items off each other, as well as hiring manpower and whatnot. Perhaps it could also be a way to purchase IC property, if that ever comes around?

At any rate, it's not "My idea" as such, just an attempt to suggest something concrete on a subject that's been brought up many times, on the basis that if I write enough a pattern will emerge, sooner or later, and make some sort of sense.
