Conquest of the Horde: Tides of Change

MoonlightBlossom Wrote:Conquest of the Horde: Tides of Change patch note update: Theik has been uninstalled from the server's lore, and will not be returning.

Upon the topic of the storyline itself; I think it'll move forward with the politics and dichotomies that hold a natural flow as it is. I believe it's far more sensible than this unexplainable unity that Blizzard has tried to maintain solely for the sake of game mechanics and a broad player base. Varian Wrynn has had much to retaliate for since his return; and the result will play only a prologue to the upcoming events.

I see Varian as the Conan of Warcraft in many regards. I wonder which Alliance races are getting tired of the King. I assume Jaina would, and stepping back to take neutral stance in regards to the escalating war.

I must know what the Kaldorei's reaction to all this is!

I agree that they should break off with the Draenei! And maybe the Tauren...

Oooh! Or the Tauren could be like, "Hey, we'll support you guys for leaving the Alliance, but we'll stick with the Horde. Ya'll in the Cenarion Circle and the Earthen Ring are still our buddays!"

Amirite or am I right? :D

Considering the nature of the Kaldorei; while they're an extremely solitary race, I see them remaining secluded from the majority of the world's cruelties; but not to the degree that they would leave the Alliance over it. The night elves are smart enough to realize that their allies hold merit, but they also won't be fighting the wars they cause. In short, "We like you, but we're not your personal army. Also, don't walk on our grass. Thanks."

The Draenei, as silly as their lore is; I see the majority of them returning to Outland, namely to continue the reconstruction efforts in what has been lost there; and will continue to fortify Shattrath. The Exodar will still exist; but since it's apparent that their vessel is only that, there's no need to inhabit a derelict shipwreck until the end of time. This, doubled with the Orcs, both of those races could very well make a mad dash for old world reclamation. Perhaps in result to this, The Scryers in Shattrath have also been driven out, and have relocated to the now sundered and ruined Quel'Danas. If this is the case, perhaps they have been taken into the fold of the new Sin'sholai - or, they further oppose their newfound state of fascism, and occupy it to keep them in check.

Jaina will always need something to do; but with the expansion of the Horde's borders; this could be sufficient to incite a rally call to fortify the borders of Theramore - especially with the tension of ties at home and abroad. Economically, Varian's imperialistic mindset could impose a double-edged sword upon Theramore's endeavors. While Theramore would be receiving many more soldiers and footmen to fortify the walls; this also means Jaina would have to impose taxes and tariffs upon the naval lines to break even; being that the city is located in a muddy swamp, there is little means for raw materials to be gathered - this may prove to be a boon for Theramore's-contracted shipwrights and stonemasons, as well as the city's overall mercantile advantage to compensate for the dependency on domestic imports, and accommodate the influx of new mouths to feed.

Needs more Elementals. I think there should be a faction allied with elementals, that'd be cool even though its unlikely...

That is an amazing analytical post from a very real-world point of view. You get a star for not just saying "This is what I think should happen...".

Yeah it sounds unlikely, though I would like an earth elemental to follow my shaman around all the time LOL .

Also, I like the name Conquest of the Horde: Fresh Meat myself.

I would love to see more role-play involving Theramore, albeit Zason lives there. O_o

MoonlightBlossom, your posts always amaze me. Thank you! I would not have worded it so well, however I do agree with your logical explanation of how events would follow.

Is there anything I can do as a lil' peon to enhance Theramore's RP potential that talking to NPCs and interacting with gobjects? >:+P

That is because MoonlightBlossom is Boon Lightning Awesome (I totally just came up with that because of a typo.)

And here was my mindset as I read her post:

I truly agree with this guy, and yes, he's amazing. Well, just wondering, we all know that Kul Tiras is Jaina's main kingdom and her father's kingdom. From that point, I think Theramore can survive, since Kul Tiras can send supplies to them. Dont they??

Jaina actually doesn't hold the throne of Kul Tiras. It's a male relative of hers who hates the Horde and Thrall, as far as I was aware.

That last time I heard of a person holding the throne of Kul'tiras was Admiral Proudmoore who was slain by Thrall.

I am most probably mistaken.

Grand Admiral Tandred Proudmoore, yo. He's managed to get the navy back up, but not as great as his father's. Though his stance on the Horde and Thrall isn't developed yet.

I was under the impression that the Admiral was extremely pissed that Thrall killed his father, and that was why they were invading Durotar again. I'll have to find out about that.
