Think I might actually transfer to a world in Europe and guest Tarnished Coast when I wish to roleplay. I checked out yesterday and it seemed like there was no cost or fee for doing so. Yet.

And where the banana can I check my latency? I'm still a bit confused by the new user interface.

What is your latency, though? I'm curious.

I'm not sure, but it's barely noticeable. Playing on american servers on pretty much any MMO usually has around 160MS.

H'okay! After figuring out my error code, I'm finally settled.

Piken Square, Sylvari Ranger. Nerisya is the name, currently am level 16, on the verge of 17.

I haven't had this much fun with an MMO for years.

After my experience with GW2, I think I can safely say this is the best MMO I've played. So many functions i never knew I missed...

I'm glad I bought this for money I do not have.

Like what, Roxas?

Such as a dedicated action button, the area level scaling, the way the game acts like everybody is in a party together even though you're not, the second wind when defeated function, the water combat etc etc.

There are a lot of them.

I'mma have to second Roxas. It's pretty much the best blend of familiar and innovative I've ever encountered in an MMORPG.

And there's actual RP! And people're nice. Which I approve of.

Echoing the above. I had my first RP yesterday and it was quite pleasant! Just a small group chatting by a way point and I stepped in. Talked to an asura about krewes and nobles and tried to explain to a Sylvari where human babies came from. Fun stuff!

So I had my first WvWvW PvP experience today. Usually, I'm not for PvP in MMOs like.. at all. But man, oh man, this was extremely fun.

Basically, I joined and wondered what the hell to do when a random dude ran past me and yelled "YOU! Yes, you! Go help them take over the western camp!" So I made my way over there and just as I arrived we all jumped down the cliffside and stormed the base. We conquered it within a minute at which point the chat is screaming with requests for reinforcements at the nearby tower.

As we were close, we fell back to the tower, arriving as reinforcements and managed to drive the attackers all the way back to their keep. As we got close, I thought "well, this was easy. We'll have that keep in no time." When suddenly the ground just flared up with AoE rings as the cannons started firing and mages started casting. Our little army was hit hard and everybody were reduced to around half HP when the enemies emerged from the keep to finish us off.

We were absolutely decimated. I was knocked off my feet from an attack I couldn't pinpoint and as I was getting up, with low health, a norn warrior charged at me. Quickly, I switched to air and placed static field in his way, stunning him, before quickly granting myself and my allies swiftness as we retreated back to our tower.

We ranged characters took to the walls and started raining hell upon our enemies as our melee fighters held the ground outside. Suddenly we got hailed on with meteor showers as the enemy elementalists had gotten into position and me and another elementalist quickly, almost in perfect unison, backed away, switched to water atunement and started to keep our fellow soldiers alive together.

It. Was. Freaking. Awesome. I really recommend you all try it out.
