I transferred into Tarnished Coast.
Poke a GM for an invite to our guild. :P
Unfortunately, Tarnished Coast was -extremely- laggy for me, with inconsistent lag going from none to four second delay, I had no choice but to transfer out. I'm gonna check out Piken Square tomorrow.
...I did mention the lag. 'Twas not unfounded wording.

Anyhow. Piken Square's been really nice in my experience thus far. Not a lick of lag, and people've been generally helpful(To the point of reviving you rather than focusing on a boss-monster, so you can help along). Maybe I got lucky somewhere along the line.

Also, I am loving the Norn Personal Storyline. And the larger story-driven events.
Yeah, but both Dragonbrand and Tarnished Coast are in the same area. Dragonbrand had no lag whatsoever and TC had lots of it.
I'm not sure, but I'd go ahead and say that perhaps Tarnished Coast just has more people in it. :B There seemed to actually be a lot of role-players interested in GW2, and I've seen plenty that have flocked to the server and putting out requests for RP guilds, that they're IC to welcome any random encounters... Etc.

Not -much- lag for me, save for cities and large WvW fights. I'm used to that stuff from my old computer, so I'll manage. :P
The day when I buy Guild Wars 2 is approaching; it might be tomorrow, it might be the day after, or the very next one. By monday, I should be able to join all of you guys!

Oh, and to top it? The price is, apparently, cheaper than what I expected.

See you ingame in a few days, my fellow CotHidians!

No, the population on both Dragonbrand and Tarnished Coast seem to be about the same. You're at least queuing in overflow for about the same amount of time.
I've gotta second Flammos on the matter about the community. Indeed, people seem much more focused on helping rather than "GOTTAGETGEARFAST", as is the problem with most MMOs these days. Currently level 33 on my Sylvari and the storyline so far has been great. It seems Sylvari function entirely in regards of a human body; they can get drunk and be affected by certain hallucinogens. (Proven in the campaign where you were supposed to hamper someone, but have to drink the brew yourself in order to convince them it's alright).

I've been having not a single bit of lag, either. Been around in Divinity's Reach some and observed the RP. The day / night cycle still confuses me, though. Nights seem -far- too short. Which is a bummer. Sylvari actually look fairly different during the night. Additionally, I've done my first instance yesterday and it was great. We wiped around 20 times or such (Why yes, it IS hard) but no one left the group. Much different from what I remember from retail during WotlK where people left after a single wipe.

Thus far, gorgeousity, still.

Bane of my existence.

Should be getting the game soon, along with my buddy. I doubt I'll have the time to CotH, school, play GW2 with him -and- with you, but I'm enjoying reading the thread. :P
Well, I dunno! I suppose it just doesn't like EU people on it. :/

Hopefully it'll be fixed in the future. Or we could just visit over. :P
Yeah, I'm probably going to play on Piken square and guest you dudes when it's implemented.

However, you can be in guild cross server, can't you?
I'm completely hooked on GW2 right now in a way that is both terrifying and amazing. It's like back when I played WoW the first time, I'm staring wide-eyed like a child into the face of giant sharks and floating purple crystals.

Just in case guesting lets me RP with all ye olde folks from CotH, hit up "Kaghur Blackmane" the Charr Warrior. I'm on Isle of Janthir with my friends and family and taking in the sights (read: below level 30) but I'm still open for guest-mode RP despite that, as long as I don't get ruined by high level enemies.

See you in game!
Guesting isn't implemented yet, but guilds span across servers! Which reminds me, can somebody invite me to the guild? My player handle is Lazuri.8943
I hadint the slightest clue the 'PvP' in this game was going to be as you described, Laz. I was interested before, worried about my comp specs, but now i'm reading that battle story and drooling (not literally, but still). It reminds me of the MANY, MANY battles I had back in the Warhammer Online days, only 100X better. I'v always missed Warhammer. Perhaps GW2 is the remedy. I'm getting this. As soon as i'm able.

However, I doubt i'll be on the same server as most CotH players. What is this guesting thing and how is that supposed to help with people being on different servers?
