Well, you never know what other cool role-players we can find at the unoffical server. If we only stick to the CotH people, it may die out. Unless we're so BA that people flock to our server. /shrug
Well the thing is that we could always just 'guest' on the RP servers.

Just gotta make sure our home server has a good PVP group. :P
The Wilds or whatever server we were on during the beta wrecked in PVP. /nod

While true, I think what I'm most concerned about is the raw population. There were 48 servers last beta weekend, and even the new server that we were on was pretty full of people. Considering that out of 48 servers, ONE was labeled as the "unofficial RP server" AND was one of the original servers to boot...I'm concerned it's going to get flooded come release, just as it was during the Beta Weekends. It'd really suck to have to deal with overflow maps and such on release day.

Since we can guest over to other servers, there are only two things that matter to much on our server choice: PvP, as Xigo mentioned; and who we can recruit into a guild. The former isn't much of an issue, the latter is trickier, but I'm not sure how to fix that without risking going to a server that's likely to be full on release day.
Lets see where the wind blows first, a lot of people are bound to get their own play-time schedules after the first overflow. Things will cool back down again.. (I hope). So there's more clear room for choooosiiing!
Well, so far, more players is never a bad thing. The game is built around having hundreds of characters everywhere. It'd only be bad if some people's computer suffer from it, or the sheer amount of chat going on will flood everything out(Though I think we could solve that from doing our emotes in a party chat or guild chat and filler out the other spam. Though the server filling up would be a downer and not everyone will be able to get GW2 at launch.

I suppose we could post in the GW2 forums and offer to house ourselves in another server as an off-hand overflow unofficial RP server if we want/need new blood into the fold.

Dunno. Planning must be done. /nod

Should make a Skype group too! More groups for me to lurk in.
I don't have a mic for Skype (Only chat =x), so there should be a sort of Skype representative of sorts to deal with that.

Also!

2nd page-ratulations!
Ideally, it'd be used for only chat. :P Though, it would be useful for skype calls during game if we wanted to use that. Or if Kret will tolerate us on teamspeak. /shrug
Forward notice to all GW2 Weekend testers of 20-23!

Begin updating your game client as soon as possible as there is a whopping 1,4gb patch already!

P.S, yes this was really necessary to have it this large!

The Wilds won't be available next BWE. Given the new strategy of having much fewer servers, I'm somewhat hesitant with regards to how crowded the noob zones are going to be for this event, as well as for release. Nonetheless, the character wipe for this event gives us an opportunity.

I'll be rolling on Tarnished Coast for this event, and hopefully others will join me. It will give us a moment to better gauge how the crowd will be for that server and if we'll want to continue with it for the real release.
I'll be rolling a fresh Asura in.. 8 or so hours!
The BWE is over. Sadness.

However, I finally have the names I'm going to use finalized, thanks to the ability to reserve names via GW1:

Ulfarr Nighthowl (Norn Guardian)
Alrekr Bjarnson (Norn Ranger)
Hrafn the Black (Norn Necromancer)
Grakor Mindslayer (Charr Mesmer)
Thragash Ragefang (Charr Warrior)

Yup, three Norn and two Charr. Because that's what real men play.

Tarnished Coast wasn't that bad population wise. It was still crowded, especially at the beginning, and I was shuffled off to overflow shards once in a while. However, it was still manageable, and I think it'll be better in release once populations have diffused a bit. Overall, I think we'd do well to go there. I even saw quite a bit of RP in capitol cities during my stay.

I'm still intending on running a guild for CotHers once we get started. I'll have more to say about that later.
I finally know my toon.

Since it's better to roll one to the end to give support to your lower toons.

His name will be Rahzarr Axefury (Charr Warrior), cus warriors are fun to play mechanic wise too! (I tried 20 character combination spread across all races and got them to 15 to get a general feel of how they'd be and I got the most fun with the Charr and the warrior class, even with the other races)

Also, in other news..

Which servers are candidates for the home world for us CotHers?

(So there can be a poll on it)
Will there be EU/US server restrictions? I don't want to be a loner on the EU servers if there is some sort of restriction.
You won't be home stuck on a server since you can guest on other servers.

The only form of restriction is not being able to participate in World versus World PvP.
