Here is the Tauren thing about being sensitive to the "taint of magic". It is talking about high elves but I would assume it would be even worse for Blood Elves.

Wowwiki Wrote:Tauren also bear no ill will to the members of the Alliance unless threatened by them, although they do make an exception for high elves. The taint of magic on the high elven spirit is a poisonous air to the tauren, a stench of the soul that they cannot tolerate for long.

Detecting DKs, Pike.

So I guess...Tauren sensing magic or the spirit of a being itself is a racial trait? I'll check out sourcebooks as well.

Oh, thanks, Duskwolf. I guess that's what I read, as it sounds familiar. <Shrug>

And for detecting Death Knights.. In my opinion, there are some traits about them that just kind of give them away, depending on the situation. Most(not all) Death Knights are dead, I believe, so they may have the stench of death. Their eyes glow an icy blue, and their voices have that dark echo to them.

Of course, there are ways to try and go around these things. Speak in a lower tone so the echo isn't as noticable, wear a hat down over your eyes, etc.

Now, if you mean like.. a Paladin or Priest or somesuch thing detecting them.. A well-trained Paladin has the ability to sense undead, BUT(Emphasis intended) on the server, I believe it is used as a cone type ability(as in the D20). Meaning: It needs to be cast to actually be useful. And a paladin would sense the undead if they were in front of him/her. Now, that doesn't mean people should go around saying "rawr sens unded heer" because.. there's no real reason for you to do so. Randomly doing that to a person who doesn't even look/act like a DK or something(someone in disguise, and actually pulling it off) would be hardcore meta-gaming in my eyes.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong anywhere.

Now....Gunman, Marksman and (Not listed in the Prestige Class List) Dwarven Sharpshooter. What are the differences, and seeing as Maulbane was able to become a Beastmaster (Which is also not on the list), would it be possible to become a Sharpshooter and make up our own skills?

Gunmen are usually better at using dual pistols more quickly, or switching weapons with extreme speed. That said, they do have very good aim and a comparable advantage with Marksmen, who deal solely in long-range weaponry. The Marksman and Dwarven Sharpshooter are the same class (Unless I'm mistaken) and are entirely focused on having skill with rifles and being able to kill at long range. Dwarven Marksmen are focused on guns, however, where I believe a Marksman can focus on bows and crossbows instead.

Just a simple question this time around.

What happened to Illidan, and the Black Temple/Tempest Keep?
Illidan is dead, but BT and all of the Tempest Keep ships still exist. I think they're probably still held by the Illidari Remnants and Kael'thas' Expedition, but with far less troops than once were around.
I am amidst devising a new character named Aedis Sunscoure. He is a Blood Elf hunter who specializes in the slaying of Amani Trolls found around elf country. That in mind I've a few questions I'd like to inquire of the community at large.

How pressing a threat are the Forest Trolls these days? I assume Zul'jin is dead and IC'ly Zul'Aman conquered, or is it a different story?

How Arcane is the Hunter spell "Arcane Shot"? Is it just a game mechanic or is it really an arrow infused with magical energy?

Thanks for the help!

Excellent!

Though a GM would have to indicate whether or not Zul'Aman has been conquered and whether Zul'jin is dead, there are multiple quests in both Eversong Woods and the Ghostlands that indicate the Amani Tribe is still very much out and about:

I would assume with a Blood Elven Hunter, that the "Arcane Shot" would have some magical properties to it, since the entirety of the Sin'dorei culture seems to be immersed in Magic.

Hope this helped - and good luck on the new character!
Zul'Aman is still a major threat, but Zul'jin has been killed as per Blizzard.

Also, Hunters in general are not usually magical, though Blood Elven Hunters can probably use a little Arcane in preparations just like Night Elves use a little Natural magic if they are capable of it. The Farstriders and Sentinels employ Elven Rangers, who are half-Druid half-Archer and fill leadership and special-ops roles in the organization. Otherwise, it always seemed to me that most Hunter/survivalist abilities are prepared skills, such as poisoning or enchanting your arrows and laying a sneaky trap on the ground for someone to step in. Of course, enchantments come into the fore in a magical race, and other magic-using races have no use for magical shot due to the superiority of guns.

Would a Blood Elf's Lifespan be around the same range since they technically branched from Night Elves? Would the fact that they embraced arcane/fel energy shorten that lifespan?
