Welcome!
Lok'Tar! Conquest of the Horde was originally a private World of Warcraft RP community that focused primarily on roleplay within the WoW setting. Originally established in September of 2007, CotH enjoyed a healthy reign of over seven years focused on WoW roleplay. On January 22nd of 2015, a DMCA notice was issued, resulting in a halt of the WoW RP focus. Now, the community has expanded to encompass multiple worlds in various games and settings. This community will serve as a hub for members to join like-minded individuals in any game or environment. The community itself will also host a few game worlds of its own after development progresses enough.
While the dust is settling after the revelation of the WoW server closure, feel free to hang out and see how development goes!

  Ports for Stuck characters.

If your character is stuck in a starter area, or stuck due to a bug/glitch and you cannot get out through any normal means, (including spirit rez), then post here. I will be logging on once a day and giving free ports to either Stormwind or Orgrimmar.

When you post, list your character name and the faction of that character (so I know which to port you to.)

This is a temporary solution until we can start getting portals up and running again, and while the boats are somewhat unreliable.

  And now for profiles!

As with game accounts profiles are now open, everyone with the rank of Peon or higher may write and post a profile in the Profile Section. Make sure to read the Stickies and the Wiki articles first!

Also, if you note that the profile is gone after you´ve posted it it is because it has been approved!

I repeat.

If your profile is gone after you´ve posted it it is because it has been approved, check the Wiki as it should appear there some time after (it could take a day or two).

Game Accounts Can Now Be Made!
Posted by: Grakor456 - 12-17-2008, 12:50 AM - Forum: Community News - Replies (71)

Some may have noticed, but the Game Account page now works for anyone Peon or above! Feel free to create your game accounts.

Some cautions:

1. Don't put up character profiles just yet. We'll tell you when we're ready for those.

2. While I believe you can log into the server, Northrend is still likely disconnected due to portals and things still nonfunctional. In addition, don't create Death Knights just yet. While they work, their starting location crashes the server, and we have yet to finalize how we're handling them.

3. If you're still a visitor and your introduction has neither been approved or denied, don't worry! We're still sorting through things and determining just how we want to handle these and what our expectations should be. We'll be going through them more as people start returning, getting better from illness, getting back from RL concerns, that sort of thing.

4. Our custom areas got zapped. No biggie, we can remake them later, but this means no Shatterspear and the other places we had to make training and prepping your character easier. At this point though, I think most of us can agree that any RP is better than no RP, so we'll handle this later.

  Applications and Timelines

Mikain Wrote:...Do NOT give your own feedback on introductions; leave that to GMs. Actually, if you could, don't post in intro's at all, we like them clean for vouches.

I know you all are bored, and that you want to help your fellow roleplayers, but please, let their first impressions be their own. When the profiles start popping up in the Workshop, THAT'S when you can start helping out your fellow players with grammar tips and suggestions on what more to add!

Also, please check out the Sever Lore page on the wiki--It's updated! What does it all mean?

* Northrend is NOT open yet.

* Death knights are in the lore, and NOT under the Lich King's sway.

* The Horde and the Alliance are at WAR. Any cross-faction fraternizing will likely get you imprisoned or killed, so tread with caution.

Those who are posting or have posted an introduction

Grakor456 Wrote:Going to reinforce Qaza's comment about thoroughness is a good thing.

Remember that Introductions are no longer just a space to say "hello" and collect vouches. This is your application to join the server. If you fail to impress with your introduction, you won't be allowed on, and we may not give you a second chance. Myself, Mikain, and Sasail have put up introductions in the hopes that they'll be read as examples of the sorts of introductions we're looking for. If you read one of them and think "Dang, that makes my intro look so short/simple/uninspired/boring etc. etc., then you should strongly consider rewriting it before we start approvals and denials.

Be thorough. Be descriptive. Try to present yourself in the best manner possible.

Grakor posted this earlier today, and I'm giving folks a day to act on it and edit their introductions. This goes for the Heroes and Grunts as well. We've only spotted a few that really fit the level of quality we're looking for.

If your application is approved, you'll get a reply to your post saying so, and it will be moved to the Archived Introductions.

If your application is denied, your thread will be locked and you will receive a PM notification. Please remember that approvals and denials are not open to debate.
