Welcome!
Lok'Tar! Conquest of the Horde was originally a private World of Warcraft RP community that focused primarily on roleplay within the WoW setting. Originally established in September of 2007, CotH enjoyed a healthy reign of over seven years focused on WoW roleplay. On January 22nd of 2015, a DMCA notice was issued, resulting in a halt of the WoW RP focus. Now, the community has expanded to encompass multiple worlds in various games and settings. This community will serve as a hub for members to join like-minded individuals in any game or environment. The community itself will also host a few game worlds of its own after development progresses enough.
While the dust is settling after the revelation of the WoW server closure, feel free to hang out and see how development goes!

  Happy Birthday, Grakor!

That's right, it's Grak's birthday! Wish him a good one!

  Server registration change
Posted by: Kretol - 08-07-2008, 10:32 PM - Forum: Community News - Replies (4)

I've put in another 'check' when people are registering server accounts. Henceforth, the forum account they use to register on the server itself must have at least one post before they will be allowed to make the game account.

This will help cut back on people on the server that make no posts on the forums for a few days (or longer).

Please feel free to comment with any problems encountered, as I didn't test the change yet.

  Rep Quests Change
Posted by: Kretol - 08-05-2008, 09:27 PM - Forum: Community News - Replies (4)

The cross-faction reputation quests have been altered somewhat, in that they now bump people up to Neutral instead of Unfriendly.

When I tested it, things worked fine, but as of late people have still been getting attacked despite being Unfriendly and having At War unchecked (and the At War check has been returning with a relog). In addition, supplemental quests have been added for those that completed the previous quests that will bump you up to Neutral if you're at Unfriendly.

  Cross-Faction System Revamped
Posted by: Kretol - 07-31-2008, 06:33 PM - Forum: Community News - Replies (11)

The new method of gaining reputation with certain opposite factions is in!

As many of you have seen, Zar'chan in Shatterspear has been sending people into Azshara Crater, with things ending abruptly in the Drudaen Tavern (or, more recently, the Earthshaker Barracks.) Now, Grizby has certain quests that will show up depending on your race, which send you to one of the 'ambassadors' outside one of the faction capitols.

IMPORTANT: If you've raised your faction previously with reborn shards, or your reputation has been otherwise raised from the default value, then the quest will not give you the faction. You will need to send in a ticket for a reputation reset for the appropriate faction.
FURTHERMORE: These quests will set you to unfriendly for the given faction. You will NEED to ensure the "At War" box is unchecked from that faction, and then relog. Failure to do so will likely cause NPCs of that faction to still attack you until you do.

The quest texts are still a work in progress, of course.

Keep in mind that this cross-faction reputation process has been changed so that people will value it more highly, considering they cannot raise it again if they end up doing something silly that the 'locals' of a city faction do not appreciate. DO NOT TAKE IT FOR GRANTED!
That is all.

  Steppin' down.

Following in Qaza's foot steps I'm stepping down from my GM position. Now that we've got a good team going again I can do this guilt free. I got a little much to handle IRL to be able to keep up with GMin' duties. Aside from that, we all know I'm really too much of a wise ass for an authority position anyway.

Full respects to the rest of the team, best of luck to the new GMs. I'm now just another player, again. Dayum feels good to be a play.

Oh, and I'll be going back to my old forum account SinkMarylandSink.
