Welcome! |
Lok'Tar! Conquest of the Horde was originally a private World of Warcraft RP community that focused primarily on roleplay within the WoW setting. Originally established in September of 2007, CotH enjoyed a healthy reign of over seven years focused on WoW roleplay. On January 22nd of 2015, a DMCA notice was issued, resulting in a halt of the WoW RP focus. Now, the community has expanded to encompass multiple worlds in various games and settings. This community will serve as a hub for members to join like-minded individuals in any game or environment. The community itself will also host a few game worlds of its own after development progresses enough.
While the dust is settling after the revelation of the WoW server closure, feel free to hang out and see how development goes!

Tentative Server Upgrade - 8/31 |

I recently upgraded my main computer, and will be using the extra parts (processor, RAM, what-have-you) for a server upgrade. However, I will be going on vacation again on the 2nd of September, so I'm a bit hesitant to go ahead with anything big like that when I'm going to be gone after two days for a bit.
At any rate, this should ideally mean less server lag (remember, if you have had bad latency, this undoubtedly won't really change much in that regard) and potentially faster zone loading. We shall see!
I'll post something in the Server Status Updates forum about an hour before I take the server offline if I end up going through with it on Monday, and the estimated downtime will indeed be several hours, as I need to reinstall the operating system (actually update to an x64 OS to handle the doubling of the RAM, since the current one is only 32-bit).

Something we've been noticing as of late...
I will be frank:
STOP EXPECTING RESPONSES TO PMs WITHIN SECONDS OF THEM BEING READ.
If a PM isn't responded to within a few days, sure you can send a gentle reminder if a response was expected. If you sent one which was read and hasn't been responded to within an hour or so, just BE PATIENT. I tend to check the forums several times at work, and I'm not really in a good situation to respond with a lengthy letter, being on an iPhone and all.
This is not specifically singling anyone out, but as of late we've had many rageposts/PMs from people feeling indignant that they haven't gotten a response right after their PM was read. This needs to stop and people really need to learn patience. Period.

-The Blood Pact has been sealed. The Sin'sholai ride to take back their lands from all enemies.
-Ratchet has been expanding its borders; as the Goblins take more land, more opportunities arise. A new Arena opens its doors to those who would do battle.
-As the battles in the Arathi Highlands continue an old foe shows its true power.
-The icy north begins to melt in the late summer. More western lands become accessible to the races of Azeroth. As well as new enemies.
-The Blood Elves continue their downward spiral. As they lose more and more battles, they realize what power they need.
-The Horde continues their aggressive expansion, as they fortify what land they do hold their forces move to take more still.
-Tension grows amongst the Alliance. Some do not support Varian and his warmongering.
