People differentiating between Flight form and normal Birds?

Get the idea?

Hmm... *gnomey thaughts*

Gnomish world enlarger + forms = "Oh, a harmless cat/bear cub/ leapard cub/ crow"

This is why gnomes should be druids :P

Ok. Better put.

Catform: Oh no, a panther/lion in the city! Shoot it before it attacks someone.
Bearform: Oh look a bear wandered in here, that can't be good. Shoot it.
Travelform: A cheetah in this part of the world? Better kill it before it kills someone.
Flightform: Oh look, a roc looking bird, they like to eat people. Shoot it.
☃ This is my snowman. He's there to remind me how much I hate the snow.

I agree with Xigo.

A big bird is scary and a danger.
Perhaps if you were a small bird, it wouldn't matter.
But the fact is you are a giant bird.
Giant things are scary and pose a threat.
Except Tauren<3.

The same goes for druids openly turning into bears/cats/yaddayadda in a city.
Realistically, you would be killed. End of discussion.
I've seen way too many druids go into bear form in a city and think all is fine.

And for Miah.....gnome druid....tiny bear?

Guys, you've got to remember it's WoW we're talking about. There are a crap load of super powerful beings/items, and supernatural phenomenon. If I were in a world like that, and a huge damn bird would come flying at me, I'd shoot/kill/slay/run it right away.
Azheron's back in business. For reals.

Tyrande used her owl thingy to scout to see ahead and see an encampment a little up ahead.

That's because Tyrande wasn't a druid. She was a Priestess of the Moon, and as such wasn't actually becoming the bird. She was using the equivalent of the hunter's "Eyes of the Beast" ability to scout. She would just be able to see what the bird saw, and it looked like a completely normal bird because, well... It WAS a completely normal bird. :|
Yeah, it's not like her bird isn't light green, see through and probably glows a bit, that definitely looks like a bird ¬¬
Lool, let's think logically :P

I'm surprised nobody mentioned this before. Respect. That was a pretty disrespectful way of putting it. . .

Ima tell you guys something ive always been using as a great rp tool for druids. Its called [item]Noggenfogger Elixer[/item] and you can buy it from a person in Gatgitan, goblin desert place, however you spell it, aftr completeing some easy quests. It has three effects, the two most common are to make you a skeleton, and to make you smaller. Once small, you can turn into cat for a more friendly house cat apperience, bird so you actualy look like a regular bird, and bear, well, bear makes you look like a small bear.

I think as many have said, a regular druid form is obvios, spelling, sorry, but with this it could make you look more natural.

Someone should look into it because ive never used it on this server and dont know if it even works.

The noggenfogger elixir is sold by a goblin- why would any druid do business with a goblin?
#38
Depends on your character's traits. If they'll do anything to bo powerful, then you've got yourself a reason.

I once read a great signature by Kretol (spelling?) that said to not just say your character wouldnt but make a reason why they would.

...I think Druids respect their forms enough to not alter them with a Goblin-made potion. To know how to use a form is to mean one has a very strong connection with nature. To have respect for it.

I think most Druids would only use a form if absolutely necessary, or if they want to blend in with -nature- more. They wouldn't just walk around a city in one of their forms for kicks, or that they feel like it. Many would possibly reply to a 'Hey, change into cat form so you can purr to me,' or 'Hey, lemme scratch you behind the ears when you're a bear,' with a 'No.'

Goblins love technology. Druids tend not to use technology.

Goblins love money. Druids tend not to care too much about money.

Why would a Druid deal with a Goblin?

In fact, it is likely that a Druid wouldn't even -have- the money to buy the potion, as Druids are used to living off the land. Heck, a Druid in a settlement in the first place is a stretch unless he has business there.

Of course, there are exceptions to everything. But still...

Quote:I once read a great signature by Kretol (spelling?) that said to not just say your character wouldnt but make a reason why they would.

...That does not apply to this.

That refers to a situation where you role playing your character the way you are interferes with the RP of others. If I use your argument, I could have my pregnant Tauren go to fight the Lich King because, you know what, I could make a reason she would.

We need to keep our characters and the characters of others in mind when we make decisions. We don't just screw over our character's personality just so they can do something that only effects them. If your Druid had to do such to accommodate the plot, or had some reasoning behind dealing with a Goblin (Such as the need to aid friends) then sure. I understand what you're saying. But if you're only doing that so you can walk around Ratchet in Cat Form...then...I don't know what to tell you.

All good points but, not trying to be pushy, I was originaly suggesting the potion not as an IC thing, but using the effect but IC making a reason for it.

Like on an older realm, a friend of mine used to use it whenever he did flight form, saying that was just how he look in flight form. After all, not all druids should look the same in thier forms.

They actually changed that in an update that's on the server. The Cat Form of one druid is different than that of another. For example, my Tauren with gray fur has a cat form with gray fur. Another Tauren with brown fur has a cat form with brown fur. It depends on your skin color now.

Check it out.

I know, I know, but its only the color and markings, maybe one cat is smaller then another?
#43
You can mention that in your FlagRSP if it is shorter or larger than the average 'insert name' form.

But I don't think there has ever been an instance of a Druid using such a tiny form that requires a potion to properly represent. Has there?

Haha, then why cant a druid be in bird form because his FlagRP says he's very very small?

Has there ever been a canonical instance in which a non-lore character druid was in such a small flight form? If so, you may debunk my entire argument, and we may all say we have very, very small flight forms.

Slight differences are okay. But you don't see people with FlagRSPs saying they're midget Tauren.
