Questions on Trolls, Death Knights and Loas! I need help!

I got this (Brilliant in my own mind)idea to make a Troll Death Knight who used to be some kind of Voodoo priest and use Voodoo in undeath and stuff.

after asking around ingame, I have heard the following:
The loa would not answer to an undead.
All DeathKnights used to be Warriors or Paladins.
You have to be the Witch doctor prestige class to use voodoo.

Now I need YOUR help to confirm these things and help me more on my silly quest to find out if my character is lorebreaking or not.

Not all DK's used to be warriors or paladins, that's second generation ones i...think. Either way, 3rd generation DK's, the playable ones, could have been anything killed a little before the battle of light's hope chappel. For example, they could have ressurected a proficient mage, as they would also likely have a knack for wielding unholy magic just as well.

The loa wouldnt really answer a deathknight in the sense of granting them their power.
And I beleive to tecnically use voodoo, you do have to be a witch doctor, but heck, that's not to stop you making an troll DK that specialises in undead magic, such as plague's and such.

The practitioners of Voodoo are Priests, Hexers, Shadow Hunters and Witch Doctors. The latter threee are prestige classes. While the Voodoo magic is something which applies to these classes that does not stop him practicing the more physical and most important part of Voodoo. These involve head shrinking, ritual cannibalism, sacrificing sentient beings to the Loa and all of that sort. Simply make him do this because I don't think dead spirits would be too willing to grant power to a dead person and multi-classing isn't really allowed.

I think the idea that DKs used to be warriors and pallies are mostly because DKs come already knowing how to wear plate and such, and while I guess there could have been a former priest that then became a DK, I am not sure if any part of the process of turning into a death knight grants you the instant proficiency with plate and the ability to swing swords.

The Death Knights were made to be elite® soldiers, the Forsaken were simply mindless undead running around and clawing things to death more or less. Death Knights also have runic magic pumping through their body.

Plus, not all DK's run about bashing things with a sword. Unholy was originally intended to be a kind of caster in plate, with an undead minion to keep the enemy off you, but people just used the melee so they added that in for unholy for gameplay purposes. They can hurl stuff at a distance, so being a skilled swordsman isnt an necessity for a DK

I had a Troll Death Knight; Gatwazzak'fon's brother, for those of you who remember MrCandleJack. He was a devout worshipper of the loa, and believed Arthas to be the embodiment of Mueh'zala, the Loa of death. He willingly gave himself to the scourge, in order to have a more direct connection with, and to, the Loa. In his mind, he was simply choosing Mueh'zala as his sole deity, and as such was being rewarded; Being rewarded with dominion over the powers of undeath. Obviously the Lich King is NOT Mueh'zala, and obviously, his new powers weren't given to him by the loa, but he thought it was, and as such, put his own Troll twists to his spells.

Technically there is only one loa that would respond to the undead and that would be Hakkar the Soulflayer, and maybe Mueh'zala. But it would be pretty strange for darkspear to worship him, maybe after he was ressurected as a DK.

But I don't know wether it's allowed or not, it might be possible, but it's far-fetched.

Baltharean's point is brilliant. Your character could think he/she has been blessed with new, stronger, abilities in undeath as a testament to the Loa, in particular Mueh'zala, being faithful to their servants. Great potential twist, it could lead to some fantastic conflict with other Darkspear Shaman and voodoo practitioners too!

Not true. Loa are volitaile powerful spirits who make contact with whoever they wish for any reason. BUT undead are considered wrong among most trolls, since they are running from Mueh'Zala and Baron Samedi. For example these two Loa or any of their underspirits might be in touch with an undead troll. And perhaps Lukou who is Life might not like you that much either, but still a better chance than the Baron.

Not true. By the letter every deathknight are Champions who fell in the Plaguelands during the end of original WoW. But you are free to have been around that area from about the time of the Third Wars start and have died by accident and still made death knight. You choice. (Perhaps emissary sent to the Mossflayers?)

HA! Witch doctor have their unique thing, but it's called Juju and is where alchemy and voodoo meet. Remember that it is a faith! Not every christian is a priest, but can still pray and spalsh holy water around. Same goes for trolls, but I'd say go for any normal mystic.
