...The Assassin class is to be an assassin, if you get my meaning. A person with the Assassin class is a person designed to kill. For money, reward, prestige, what have you. If you take away the reward aspect from the Assassin, they just become a murderer. I can understand that you could be an assassin for the Horde/Alliance, but then you're just murdering for your government. It's honestly still the same thing. Which is why I wrote it the way I did.

No, That's a hitman. A hitman kills on order. They use the same techniques as assassins, but they do it for money or on order. An assassin is somebody who tries to change the world by killing. They kill people with political or echonomical power to make a difference. Wether it be for the better or worse. They do not take money for their hits. Also, a true assassin does NOT kill an opponent in secret. . .Ever. They never kill silently. Not the higher ups i.e. the target. They kill them opnely, in front of everybody to show them "Yes, I killed this guy." Then they run. The reason for this is so that people can't explain the cause of the target's death as, let's say, a heart attack. It's to show people that he's making a difference, making examples. That is an assassin. Their name even comes from the word "Hashshashin" which was the name of a group of people who did exactly this. In modern days however, hitman and assassin has somehoe gotten the same meaning and it annoys me.

Well, let's just put it this way. An assassin is a person who assassinates someone. Let's ignore the motivation behind the kills, and just look at what the class entails. Because while ultimately you are correct, some people will play an assassin like a hitman, and some will play it like a political killer who wants to change the world.

Whether it annoys you or not, Roxas, we aren't changing it because of that. I'm sorry but what we've decided is what we're keeping with altogether, and people thinking they can just change the system at their whim is not what we were aiming for with the prestige system. All we did was move the classes into categories and allot more to the people. Not shift everything and start reforming our already defined ideas.

An assassin is somebody who performs assassinations. And for it to be an assassination and not, say, a homocide, the victim needs to be a public figure of some sort. This is the definition of the word assassination:

"assassination, the targeted murder of a public figure."

I'm fine with you keeping the description and whatnot. This has just always annoyed me and I just needed to vent.

Buccaneer requiring training, as it is quite an average prestige I don't think it would require -ANY- type of training.

I would say, based on the skills this prestige gains from the RPG books and the sources of its orgin, it is pretty powerful.

I go to sleep one night and come back after school and what do I see? This.

Seriously, everyone, thank you for your help, I sincerely appreciate it. Every little bit of help is always useful for CotH. Love you all.

As I said before, first act of business it putting up pages for the classes which don't have them, starting with Catagory I. The rest will need more work put into them as they are more advanced classes.

Update: Category I classes have been finished, time to move onto Category II.

We need a Prestige Class Application of some kind to be made. As it is we are basically in the dark on what we have to PM a GM, and what GM's we should PM.
Pain is an illusion.

For Catagory II prestige titles simply PM a GM and say "I'm going to turn [x] into a [y]."

For Catagory III prestige titles PM a GM and say "I'd like to turn [x] into a [y] because [z]." They may ask questions after that though.

I have a suggestion which I would need a GM to approve before I do so.

Currently the title of the Prestige Class page is 'Prestige Title Template' whereas there is no longer any template. Thus, I'd like to suggest we change the name to simply 'Prestige Class' or 'Prestige Title' or even just 'Prestige' just in case we are required to make a template in the future.

I've gone ahead and moved the Wiki page to the new title 'Prestige Title' as it is no longer a template. It seemed to fit more.

Also, there are only three classes left, all Category III.

Missing Spellbreaker and Blood mage prestiges.

Also will be going through the RPG books at some point to give a basic idea of skills such as I did with buccaneer.

And why is fel-sworn cat-2? It seems like a cat-3 to me.

Hello again everyone, I haven't taken a look at this forum in a good long while but I am impressed with the amount of work you've done Bounty-hunter. Althought I am equally disapointed in those that are trying to add new classes and debate the prestige system. The system we use now was debated and pieced together after months and we are not going to change it so easily.

On that note, if anyone adds a prestige to the wiki and says its a prestige when it is really not. I WILL delete it from the wiki. There are reasons that classes such as spellbreaker and blood mage are not added to the prestige list. (As a side note, a blood mage is a blood elf Archmage essentially.)

So what you're saying is, a prestige character doesn't get any sort of new ability in character? A pyremaster for example should be able to commune with ashes, but with that quote above in mind, it seems to me that you're saying that pyemaster won't be able to do that in character..?

Now, I'm not saying that the prestige would not have these abillities but I am saying do not list off abilities that would be given to the charater like it was in the old system. This is because the admins will not be granting players these powers.

For example: In the old system as a prestige a spirit walker would be able to go incorperal and normally the admin might give that power in the form of a spell people could use. Now in the new systems those powers are now granted on a less common basis.

Ah, well I just figured they were missed because they're not directly on the list of prestiges, and not to derail the thread, what exactly do you mean by blood elf Archmage? Are you saying that blood elf archmages have access to spells and skills the other races don't? Such as flamestrike, using verdant spheres, and summoning a phoenix?
Sorry again for asking, but I'm just quite curious as to the reasons they weren't included. I have a vague idea but I'm not quite sure if my thoughts are correct.
