Obviously it's something that has been needed to be talked about since so many people are talking of this?

Whatever the problem may be, a pirate draenei shaman, I don't see the problem there. Though, not to go off-topic. Back to the flying parchment!

Are we even really still discussing it still? So far i've seen 4 posts about 'ladies keep it civil', and something about other's characters that Danalthar believes is out of place.

I was merely saying that, once again in my opinion, we shouldn't all be freaking out about this when we have other things.

Why is it always...

"This isn't possible..." and never, "This IS possible?"

So, what if someone chooses to send letters with wings? I have seen people have objects do more magical and mysterious things without an explanation of how or why it was able to do that. Now, if you are arguing it for the sheer fact that you dislike the idea, then don't be involved or don't use the idea yourself. Creating a thread because you think that someone's creativity has stepped outside of the bounds of 'realism' is a bit...retarded. Literally retarding their imagination. World of Warcraft is a fantasy MMO; dragons that can turn into humanoids, goblins that can teleport you through a machine only to exchange you with your evil twin, or even gnomes that can create muffins or other baked deliciousness from the energy that runs throughout the world. Now tell me how letters with wings could be wrong? Maybe the letters will be soggy or wet, possible burnt with corners, or whatever else they could be through. But couldn't it be possible?

Maybe we should stop attacking someone for their ingenuity and start going, "hay mayng, dat mite jus w0rk gud." Let me clarify though, I am not saying people should go willy-nilly ape shit with their ideas, but something as small as this shouldn't force someone to create a thread because they are against it.

I think Cressy laid the textual smack-down on this issue.
By the way, I like the idea of little enchanted letters flying. Though I don't think you'd be able to track them to certain people, just certain destinations which might make them a little impossible, unless someone created like some sort of magical beacon to go with them. You'd enchant it to seek out that beacon, sorta like you take pigeons away in cages then release them with a letter and let them fly home to their mate returning the letter.

Haters gonna hate. /trollfaice

And there is no reason letters couldn't fly, although I'm not sure how they would go long distances. Portals, maybe. I mean, Blood Elves have brooms magically sweeping starting areas, so enchanted letters letterboxes is absolutely plausible in my eyes.

Bah. Feck it.

I didn't make this thread to insult others. And I damn well didn't make it to be insulted myself.

Whatever with this at this point. There's no talking with you people.

Hmm. True. I remember a GM. . .Actually, I think it was Krilari, who once said this about a similar question whether something was possible or not "This is not real life. We use the real life as a baseis and create our own world. Not everything has to be logical."

I've actually been trying to think more about that since I heard it.

However, it doesn't take a genius to see that this thread is causeing a bunch of OOC drama. If it was up to me, I'd lock it and be done with it. Because right now, it's not accomplishing -anything.-

I have to say i'm disappointed in a few of you for the way this was handled.

I have to say Cressy's statement on this fits it well in saying that it's logical on the grounds that this lore is illogical in many, many aspects. Enchanting such a thing to create flight through wings would be possible until it's used to metagame, which would be directing it directly to someone rather than a fixed point.

I'm locking this on the basis that this isn't finished but it's going in an awful direction. Xigo, we're all the same level of people here. There's no need to condescend to the "you people" function. If anyone thinks this thread NEEDS to be reopened for CIVIL discussion, drop one of the staff a PM and it will be considered. However, this is turning into a boiling argument.
