Rogue Death Knights
#16
The Ebon Blade's members were accepted back into their respective factions (ie; Horde and Alliance) only through a great deal of finesse, and the promises that they weren't part of the Scourge any longer, and they would be able to remain under control. Those were the most basic prerequisites for their acceptance; the fact that they're not a threat to everyone around them. This is evident in the quest dialogue.

The Ebon Blade is the single faction which all Death Knights are expected to belong to. They answer to it. The Ebon Blade is responsible for their actions. The Ebon Blade superiors don't go around forcing people to do stuff, but members must be able to fill those prerequisites. To have their members running around killing people indiscriminately would be in complete violation of the agreements they have with Alliance and Horde. The agreements by which they made peace in the first place.

Bear in mind that most common citizens still see Death Knights as rather scary, and potentially dangerous. They're tolerated because they were useful in Northrend and because of that aforementioned agreement. However, it doesn't take much to turn the populace against the rest of the Death Knights because of one or two bad eggs. You'd better believe the organization knows this.

Now remember how I said that the Ebon Blade is responsible for the behavior of its members? It is, in a way. They are -the- organization of Death Knights. Who else is going to regulate them? Guards and lawkeepers certainly will, but since that organization is the one held responsible, they'll be the one to take countermeasures.

As a small note, I'm going to add here that this -only- applies to Death Knights actively killing people against the law. It has little to nothing to do with subjectivity.

Then this is less about rogues and more violation of common laws.
Murder is generally a crime everyhere.
Then yes, the Ebons would probably hunt down said Death Knights?
Otherwise? No. I don't see it happening.

They would.

I've never been talking about the Ebon Blade hunting down people for minor infractions. I'm referring to actual murder of a member of whatever faction the player in question happens to belong to.

In addition, the hunting of rogue Death Knights is considered canon lore by the server, regardless of whether there are enough examples in lore. We've got several Death Knights on the server who work as rogue hunters, as well as a moderator's character who did the same. (Khardona)

The fact that almost everyone else has the same belief that rogue Death Knights are hunted down also goes to show how accepted this lore is.

To put it simple and blunt; the Ebon order offer membership to free death knights into their old factions. Those not part of the order are welcome only under the assumption that they are Ebon Bladers. A rogue death knight would be anyone not part of the order, but would only get attention when they somehow threaten the alliance between the Ebon Blades and respective fashion. And I'd think that the pressure on death knights are higher than just abiding law, they are probably not welcome everywhere at all times and are just treated differently and with great suspicion.

They have become Wow's gypsies in stereotypes!
