IC raids/dungeons. (A suggestion)

Seems like a good idea, don't you think?

Gathering a group of heroes and gearing up, getting ready to defeat a evil organization or put down an evil warlock!
I thought it would go something like this:

1) CW's will be issued before choosing to go or not (There's a chance you'll die, of course!)

2) The dungeon will be cleared out (Or using a custom built mob+boss area) and will be played out with rolls, as usual.

3) It could also be a usual dungeon run, as WoW meant it to be. With gear and rolls and everything, but it would still be IC. (Even though dying will only take place once the event is over. If you die during, you'll just be resurrected and carry on until the end. (Players can choose their own rules for this))

4) Rewards will probably be whatever you can find in the dungeon. And what you'll get as a reward from the person who hired/sent you to clear it.

I thought this would be a fun thing to play out! If anyone has suggestions/comments i'd love to hear them!
This could add an entire fun aspect to the RP for (Mostly suicidal) valorous characters.

Fairly certain that someone said all raids/instances are likely already cleared by heroes/adventurers/lorecharacters/Kretol's mom or whatever. As for just 'clearing' it out and replacing mobs within, it sounds like a fair tick of work just for a 'raid'.

And IC raids are done all the time - all kinds of events. I participated in one in some underground tomb... and looted an awesome sword, a good dagger and a lot of money... all ICly, of course.

This has come up a lot, and we've said no for the following reasons:

1) Many of the raids and dungeons are already cleared out IC. Not all of them, but most.

2) A group of 5 people taking on countless mobs in a dungeon is the type of epicness we try and steer away from. There's probably no less than 200 NPCs in every dungeon, and in raids there's even more. It would be absurdly OP to take on this many NPCs with so few people.

3) People will claim powerful items that they retrieve from the instance/raid and abuse it in some way or another.

4) Much smaller scale events can be made and yield more... realistic results, and you don't need to die. Resurrection is a rather big thing in WoW, and you get a number of defects and weaknesses when you return.

Not to gun you down, but the chances of allowing people to run dungeons and raids IC are little to none.

And, roll fighting your way through a dungeon with +200 mobs will take weeks..

Not to mention that clearing a dungeon involves significant interaction with a lore character. That'd rather be avoided.

I see, well how about a custom built dungeon with less mobs and no lore characters?
Could be used for an event every once and a while.

You know, many dungeons may have been ICly cleared and five people taking it all on on their own might stretch things a bit. . . but it really could add some fantastic RP if you are into the whole 'heroic' RP. One option may be to play it as 'what if' scenarios, RP your way through the dungeon, enjoy every bit of it- but once you are done don't incorporate it into your 'day-to-day' RP in the larger world. Make it one-off RP scenarios where you indulge your fantastic side and make your characters the badasses they would be if they were the heroes portrayed in the quests.
