Ding, ding, ding, Rensin. Thank you for the clarification.

Regarding the current line of discussion, there's nothing wrong with having multiple characters who interact with one another as long as the purpose is in crafting a story, hopefully with others. If the intent is to somehow force other players to comply with your wishes, that's not cool. Quite a few people from the community have multiple characters who interact with one another simultaneously and do so without problem.

To be honest, though, the problem of people who misuse alts and their relationships are going to solve themselves at some point. I'm fairly certain that some sort of ostracization would occur that would result in little to no roleplay with those individuals. That, or the collective mighty hand of the staff would slap them upside their heads.

No one has to kill anyone.

But, if you do, you cannot bring them back.

Bingles kills Korque. No bringing Korque back.

Korque kills Bingles. No bringing Bingles back.

What if your character is killed by your own DMing? Not from another character, certainly, but by an NPC enemy you're partially controlling. Say you're running an event in which your character dies and it's not the result of any roll checks or anything of the sort, but merely derives from circumstance or some demand of plot or character development. Given that you're personally setting up a situation in which your own character dies, is this rule still in effect?

Personally speaking, I'd try to avoid this situation whenever possible in the first place.

Of course. I was just wondering because I've seen it done once or twice.

I'm right to assume that this sort of no-no against character interaction doesn't include characters within a guild, if they are neither hostile nor supportive of each other?

If your own character kills your own character, they cannot be resurrected.

That should really be the answer to any and all questions in this thread. No need to take it further, and make it mean any more or less than it does. Simple as that.

I do not nescessarily agree with all circumstances of the alt-kill thing because; I for one do not have any qualms about my characters knowing each other - killing each other - competeing - etc.

But there was a day in the past, when Kathorg was forced to kill Skrog to appease those around him for vengeance.
Kathorg did not willingly do it, but he did. Skrog died - then you yourself Grakor rezz'd Skrog.

The interaction of two of my characters with different people put them at odds - then got one killed by the other. IDK how that is rational to say then the character in that circumstance cannot be rezz'd. Unless you are gonna tell me how I can and cannot RP.

For the record, I did so mostly because everyone was complaining about the circumstances surrounding that event. To be frank, it was something we simply don't want to happen.

We are. Just as telling you that you can't play the son of Arthas is telling you how you can or cannot RP.

Torlorlor I want play Artuus.

Norly, I support this fully and entirely, I thought it was already a rule!

I've killed my own characters before.

(And never attempted to bring them back, however, I can clearly see how it becomes a problem.)

Just one more noose I will deal with - I understand how this rule applies to constant abuse of alts; but anyone that is responsible with their alt interaction is being lashed for the crimes of fools.

... One more noose?

I didn't think those were fashion accessories. Thought you only got one.

More than one noose is kind of redundant.
