Rigley's Event Interest Inventory, Part Whichever
#16
I already have some thoughts stirring on this, though I won't be posting anything concrete until the conclusion of Kidnapped.

I'm wary of doing a Gnomeregan questline, but if there's a willingness to let it go forth on the rest of the team then I might. Dunno though-- won't promise anything yet, as I said. :B

Post moar! I'm wanting diverse opinions and a large amount of them.

I'd love to see some Alliance gnome and/or Night Elf stuff.

Also, I'd love if you could manage to do something to make all our oh-so-friendly characters feel some hate for the other faction.

Perhaps some kind of plot where there's subterfuge or a major misunderstanding that brings Allies and Hordies against each other. Even if it were a little event with less than 40 characters, that would still be really cool to experience, and hopefully have a lasting effect on those characters behavior towards those not their own. Make our characters feel hurt and confused and feel bad for loving their cross-faction friends!

...Ok, that's really hard to do.
But it would be great if it could be pulled off.

Still, I'm not after specifically action, or quiet or whatever. I'm hoping for an uncomfortable emotional event. I really like events where there's multiple ways to interpret the situation, like how different people were doing survival, or horror or suspense in the last Skin Thieves event.

But again, make nice people feel bad. We have a lot of nice characters, and while we have a lot of things happening like kidnappings or shipwrecking or whatever, we don't have enough moments where our characters screw up and wind up accidentally not doing nice things.

I'll add to Dae a bit, why not an Alliance event but some of the people are Horde supporters? I'm not exactly sure if Alliance races can be horde, but :P

Alright, so let me pitch a thought to you lot now that I've had one in development for some time.

As a general outline: I'm thinking Alliance primary, with Horde involvement to the side. The main plotline itself would center around a plague (though not one that provokes people to overt madness or turns them undead-- an actual sickness). The intention would be part organized events, with an initial run leading up to a survival event that takes place in much of Stormwind's land. The whole time this could hopefully develop some RP in Westfall, Duskwood, etc in general as events spread and there's more to do ICly to aid in the chaos.

Theoretical idea of course, but I've developed some good thoughts for it and I thought I would see what people would think.

*Is late*

Faction: Horde

Race: Tauren

Event Type: Nomadic / Survival RP.

EDIT: I like the plague idea too. I'd sign a character up.

Mkay, another post in here:

I've noticed that one of the reoccurring suggestions was Gnomeregan.

I'm fine with this, though between the idea of a plague and Gnomeregan, which one sounds more appealing? I'm honestly biased towards them both, so I'd prefer some talk here to help with the decision!

Or perhaps pitch an idea aside from the current two I'm contemplating, up to you.

Radiation leak ("plague") from Gnomeregan. Or, a group of leper gnomes bringing radiation barrels ("plague barrels") to other settlements.

Do the Forsaken and Leper Gnomes work closely at this point in time?

I'm afraid I'd rather keep the two plots apart, as each would likely be a fairly lengthy ordeal in it's own right! I also find the separate backgrounds a bit more compelling than one explaining both.

Faction: Horde. As you've said, you've already done Dwarves, Humans, Elves. Think it's time for a nice change.

Race: Trolls! Do Trolls. They're always very fun, but do make it open for all other races. Like, base the NPCs and the quest-line on Trolls, but leave everything open to all other races of the Horde.

Event Type: You're more than capable of doing a mixture of everything, basically. The main quest should be something of great threat, but making your way towards it can be consisted of smaller sidequests. The casual RP could be done by the players alone, without your assistance.

Other: Make some opportunities for assassination. We like assassination. /nod

I hate the idea of Plague, even if it isn't madness/undead. It's something I consider obnoxious.

I'd greatly prefer Gnomergan, even if it means I have to bring in a human to do it since that's my only profiled character (Much less only alliance character). On the plus side, he has "Save Khaz Modan" on his resume already.

Unfortunately while it's true I've ran more alliance than horde events, it's primarily because I've found myself adopting less a mindset of 'build it and they will come' in terms of events, and more 'see what people want, then build it' due to low interest in some other ventures. So at present I'm hinging the primary faction off of what people in this thread are recommending, and while by no means the majority (aside from perhaps the vocal one), they're about the only thing I have to go by if I wish to have an idea of desired content. :B

I'm up for a Horde event too, with either of my currently-unprofiled Tauren.

My alliance character needs more character expression. My Tauren are in need of character development.

Let's round up the horde techies and dismantle some Venture Co.

Wait, does this even go here? Too bad, hittin' post anyway.
The true test of his choice lies forward.

I've been hoping to do Gnomeregan for the longest time. I even made announcements back in the day to lead it.

I also had more free time back in the day. Now, I don't mind just letting someone take the DMing helm. Just one more major server event I'll miss anyway.

-Sigh.-
