Introduction Time!
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
You wanna know about me, eh? Alright well here are some basics: I'm a seventeen year old guy that has nothing better to do with his time then kick his feet back and pound on keyboard keys for hours a day. I spend my free time gaming, both on the computer and on consoles, mainly Xbox. When I'm not gaming you can find me relaxing somewhere thinking up ideas for my next RP, usually with my brother. I started playing WoW all the way back when I was thirteen, when I would farm ore for my brother when he would go to work (This was on the non-ps WoW), and got instantly addicted. Over the years I played off and on, sometimes on private servers, sometimes on the actual server. A few years back my brother and myself started our own private WoW server, which we ran on an old laptop and used to RP on (just the two of us). That's when my new love for role-playing in-game started to grow. Recently me and my brother were reminiscing of the good 'ol days and it made me want to see what was out there now, with the new patches out and such, and that's why I'm here!

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I'm from the U.S., primarily speaking English but every once in a while I call upon my foreign language classes to pull out some German and French.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
As I said before, somewhere up there, I started playing when my brother left his WoW account logged in one day when he went to work. I then proceeded to start screwing around and found out that it was kinda fun! When he got home I got a good growling at, but when he found out I didn't cause any harm he said that as long as I asked first, I could go and gather ore for him while he was at work. In return I helped him become one of the lone sellers of copper on his server, buying out everyone else or undercutting them, resulting in him being quite wealthy, a win-win.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
To be honest, I just put "WoW Role-playing Private servers" in the search bar and you guys were one of the first that popped up. When I found out that there was an Introduction requirement in order to make an account I was quite intrigued, never having seen something to that effect before. I figure that if I am able to get in the server it will be quite enjoyable, as most people will actually be able to role-play, unlike a lot of chat lobbies and such where you don't know what you're going to get.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
For the most part I am up for just about any RP as long as its a good one. I enjoy both sitting about an Inn drinking Thunder Ale with an old bud until I can't see straight and also blazing through a Raid with ten other players hoping we can survive until our back-up rendezvous with us.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
My favorite combos for race/class, and what you'll probably see me as if I manage to get in-game, are Tauren/Shaman and Blood Elf/Rogue. I enjoy the shiftiness of Rogues contrasted with the rich, elegance of the Blood Elves and playing a giant brute who will always be at your back, slamming totems into the ground, scaring off that pesky troublemaker is always satisfying.

What are your expectations of this server?:
I honestly don't have crazy expectations, I just want to have fun and enjoy some good role-plays!

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
Honestly, maturity is probably the one that appeals to me the most. It's never fun to deal with someone who is being immature or rude. It'll be nice to know that everyone I will be dealing with is going to be generally mature, unless it is part of the role-play.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
This is an excerpt from my short story "Split-Second" I wrote two years ago, it's not my best work but it's the first one I came to, so here goes:

Ch 1

Bang! The noise echoed through the large room. The room grew silent, as the man at the podium hit the ground. In a second the room burst into chaos. People began to scream as they raced for one of the two sets of large doors, trying to escape before anything more bullets flew. Guards started to pour out from behind the stage curtains. A few ran to the man on the ground, checking for a pulse, the others started to search the area. The theater was quickly emptying, and soon only the guards and a handful of curious spectators were left.
The head of security, who was squatting next to the man on the floor, stood up and began to scan the area. Besides the guards, who were scurrying to the upper floors, it was relatively calm and quiet for there just being a shooting, granted most of the commotion had moved outside.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw what seemed to be a person on the third story balcony. Immediately he radioed the guards to check the balcony. He knew it was probably just a figment of his imagination, but if it was the shooter it would pay off.

“Its amazing what can happen in a split second,” he muttered, as he ran to the elevator.

Ch 2

The world is a lot different when you’re looking at it through a scope. It’s always a shock when the target finally hits the ground, but this time was different. The difference was that the scope that I was looking through was attached to a silenced gun that still had its safety on. Let alone the fact that it wasn’t yet loaded. To put it simple, the gun resting on the third floor balcony wasn’t the same one that shot the Lirien Corporal.
And that makes me innocent right? Heh… I wish. The worst thing you can do at a shooting, besides kill the guy, is to be pointing a gun at the him. So what do you do when someone else drops your target for you? You run.
Well sort of, in my case you pack up, and then you run. Quickly yet carefully I dissembled the gun and packed it into its case making sure everything was secure.
I could already hear the click, click, click of the steel toed boots of the guards hitting the floor below me. I picked up my belongings and casually walked to the elevator, pushing the button down when I got there.
“Here goes nothing,” I said as I stepped into the elevator.

Ch 3

As the head of security reached the elevator he had already passed three people, none of them obvious threats. One was a frantic man from the second floor swearing he would never attend a military speech again, another who was taking pictures and got kicked out because this is now classified as a crime scene and a third who was a cellist from the orchestra that had been playing before the speech.
He continued to the elevator, stepping inside as he arrived. Followed by guards he ran to the balcony where he thought he saw the figure. He threw open the curtains where he had seen the figure and immediately swore under his breath.
Then he saw something. A gun cartridge, lying on the floor next to the railing. He picked it up and examined it. Strangely enough it wasn’t missing a bullet. Another strange thing was the lack of a shell casing from the shot fired. Right about then he realized something else and radioed the desk
“Don’t let anyone out; I’ll be down in a second,”
“Very clever,” He said as he ran to the elevator, his posse of guards following close behind him.

Ch 4

My plan had worked perfectly, besides the fact that I hadn’t actually shot the man. My gun was carefully stored in a cello case that I had painstakingly made out of a normal one. I was wearing the orchestral uniform which consisted of a black suit, a white dress shirt and black dress pants with a silver dress tie. Since the orchestra members were seated on the third story and the balcony wasn’t reserved, that was where I set up, and around five minutes into the speech I would have taken the shot. Then I would go down the elevator unnoticed in the chaos and walk out the front door. The problem was that I didn't get down before the chaos had halted, since I wasn't the one to take the shot.
When I got to the door I was asked to show an ID, not a problem since I was under a fake name anyway. However as I was making my way to the doors I noticed that they had placed portable metal detectors on both sides of them. Not only that, but when I went to turn around I saw a group of guards, and who I assumed to be the head of security, guns raised running towards me.
My mind started racing. I dropped the cello case and drew two nine millimeter pistols and unloaded a clip on the incoming men. Still holding the other gun pointed at the group, I reloaded the pistol with a flick of my wrists. A series of pops filled the room as they returned fire. I quickly finished reloading and immediately dropped to cover. Time seemed to slow as while my adrenaline kicked in. I stood up and started to run to a pillar while unloading both guns clips onto the men.
As I slid to cover I heard one, maybe two bodies collapse to the floor with a thud. I reloaded once more. I was now in sprinting distance to the doors. I left my cover doing a quick side-flip while my fingers pulled the triggers on my guns and then continued on through the door. Finally, I was home free. I leaped over the steps and hit the sidewalk running.
Crack! I felt cold, hard steel as a nightstick hit the back of my head, my body collapsed on the pavement, my vision blurred and I blacked out.

I wasn't sure how much I wanted to give and I figured that was a good stopping point, so there you go!

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
At this moment I cant think of a whole lot, if I do, I'll make sure to edit or add in!

Hey there! Welcome to Conquest of the Horde, xrandox!

I'd suggest giving the server rules and policies a few look-overs, to get an idea of what our rules and expectations are.

All over the forums, we've got all sorts of articles and guides for quick-reading incase you're not too familiar with the lore. The wiki also contains helpful tips when you're creating a character.

Once you're in-game, I suggest doing /join Chat (for OOC talk) and /join Barrens (for silly banter)! If you have any questions at all, you can ask me or any other Forum Helper or GM. Asking around in-game works as well, should you not be on the forums at the time!

Will your brother be joining you here as well? Also, thanks for sharing that story with us! It was fast and fun to read, can't want to see you once you start roleplaying in-game!

As soon as you get everything figured out and you're lurking around in-game, I would suggest typing in .help to see what kind of commands you can use to help you set up before roleplaying. You can spawn your own gear in, open your bank from anywhere, and unlock every flight location.

We hope you enjoy your stay here!
