All I'm saying is...
People want to be able to post their opinions in a public forum.
You can't do that in Character Profiles.
Workshop is open!
Do it there?
More people that do it, equals...more people that do it, so on and so forth. This seems like foot-stomping to me, the argument.

We can't convince people to use the workshop, we can try but that is their own choice.

Problem is that when people do post their profiles in the Workshop, I have found, very few people respond with criticism. Which usually ends up as people thinking that their profile is reasonably sound as they post it in the main Character Profile forum.
And then it gets ripped to shreds. And then people start noticing things. And then no one can even respond to chip in to help, because they know [X] about the topic at hand.
Do you have what it takes to join the Fighting Blues?
Do you have what it takes to defend your homeland?
Will you stand up in defense of the innocent? The weak?
Will you stand up in defense of Justice and the Law?

I'm not saying this shift will be instant, but we do have to start.

The workshop is a place where you can't get your profile approved. It's a crap shoot to put it in there, but -most forum helpers- don't also look at it. I'm not asking for player input, or saying that "I wish people could help me with it!". What I mean when I say help, is communicating with the FH's in a way that will get them to understand a point of view.
It's up to the FH's and the GM's to also listen to us when we have something to say---the collective us. Sometimes, that means that we have others that also know about what we are describing in a profile backing us up.
Case in point, Xigo in Thoradin's profile? Thoradin can say that himself, yes, however it -has an inpact- with someone else chimes in as well. When someone else who's been a GM, or -knows- how the process works can say something in a profile.
It's not as black and white as "Use the workshop", because a workshop is where you work on it---but the actual profile threads are where you discuss with the powers that be about how to get the thing approved, something you can't do now with more than one person.
It might as well be the PD forum.

c0r, you're diminishing a legitimate concern. Could you please not?

And also correct them like you would profiles that are up for approval! That would help too. And make workshops mandatory. And...
Just let us discuss things on profiles. That's taking a step out of the already long and tedious process.

I truly didn't think I was, so apologies. I was trying to bring a laugh.
But, isn't it that simple?

Naw, it'd be more simple to allow us to communicate in the profiles that can be approved. Heh.

Well, yes. But whether the impact is positive or negative is a matter of opinion.
Have you hugged an orc today?

It's not a simple issue, c0r. We are bringing up a legitimate issue about the character profiles. Yes, the lack of people helping out with those profiles in the Workshop is a problem, one compounding this entire issue. We cannot force people to use the Workshop. I, myself, post my profiles in their seeking feedback and hardly ever get it, so I give up on the Workshop and I go ahead and post it in the Character Profile section for approval.
Edit: Grakor, it is healthy for there to be multiple views and opinions on anything. I welcome Xigo's input, as he was helping my point by bringing logic to it. At least that second post of his. His first, as well as karl's, was not helpful at all. I admit that and wish they had not posted those first posts.
There will always be differing points and views, and stifling anyone who isn't a GM or FH is rather poor in that regard.

c0r, your suggestion is kinda useless, in my opinion. If we look at it in the workshop, then we'll still have to look at it when it's posted to the character profiles section, as well. Don't you think that's a bit of a waste of time?
Never mind. I'm slow. Ignore me.

So...should we (or whoever controls what's on the Forums) abolish the Workshop entirely?
