Welcome!
Lok'Tar! Conquest of the Horde was originally a private World of Warcraft RP community that focused primarily on roleplay within the WoW setting. Originally established in September of 2007, CotH enjoyed a healthy reign of over seven years focused on WoW roleplay. On January 22nd of 2015, a DMCA notice was issued, resulting in a halt of the WoW RP focus. Now, the community has expanded to encompass multiple worlds in various games and settings. This community will serve as a hub for members to join like-minded individuals in any game or environment. The community itself will also host a few game worlds of its own after development progresses enough.
While the dust is settling after the revelation of the WoW server closure, feel free to hang out and see how development goes!

High Tinker Gelbin Mekkatorque Wrote:
Good Sir/Madame,

As a proud member of the Alliance, duty compels you to journey to Ironforge with haste and submit yourself to the will of High Tinker Mekkatorque, King of Gnomes.*
The end of our exile draws nigh - Operation: Gnomeregan is about to begin!**

* Lawyerbot 2000 informs me that I actually possess no legal authority whatsoever - over gnomes or otherwise - but still, you have to admit that sounded impressive!

** Seriously, please come help out if you can. Many thanks!

Citizens and friends of Gnomeregan! Today is the day we take back our glorious city from the vile traitor Thermaplugg! Gather around me as we prepare to reclaim our homeland! No more shall our people live as refugees, as outcasts, as wretched, irradiated slaves chained to the yoke of a madman's war machine!

The end of Thermaplugg's reign draws near! Gather now at the staging area! Our tactics, our science, our bravery and determination shall prevail.

The assault begins in but a moment!

Operation: Gnomeregan begins NOW!

On December 27-29, Operation: Gnomeregan will be swinging at full force as a three-day RP event. All Alliance are welcome, but gnomes are especially encouraged to be RPed.

Though this is a three-day event, the event times include morning and evening. One event will be in at 11 AM Server while another is at 8:30 PM. The times and dates are as follows:

EVENT 1: (Dec. 27: 11 AM ST)

Players are to gather up morale and support as the troops form. They are to ready themselves in preparation for the task ahead through basic training and weapons testing.

EVENT 2: (Dec. 27: 8:30 PM ST)

With the temperatures down, players will open up the vents by throwing Radiageigatrons at them. Science-minded players can read up on the radiation levels from the opened vents.

EVENT 3: (Dec 28: 11 AM ST) Mekkatorque begins the assault. PHASE 1 Begins.

Secure the air field. Players take down rocket launchers, but they also have to defend against irradiated leper gnomes. Players can either disable the launchers altogether or destroy them outright.

EVENT 4: (Dec 28: 8:30 AM ST) PHASE 2

Secure the Surface Command Post. Players will have to fight and take down irradiated gnomes crawling all over the place.

EVENT 5/6: (Dec 29: 11 AM/ 8:30 PM ST) PHASE 3

Repeat events. IC, this is all in one go, but OOC, there is a justification that players are of different divisions and, thus, cannot interact with the opposite day/morning players. The squads dive into the tunnels, only to find it empty. What they don't know is what awaits ahead...

If you attend one event on this day, you cannot attend the other on the same character.

Events are walk-in. If you wish to assist in the event, please PM me on what times and days you are available.

Oh well...this is a bit of a mess. [New FHs!]

Er, sorry everyone. You may have noticed that the GMs and Admins got into a paint fight again. Three of you happened to have gotten caught in the crossfire. Oops.

Rather than taking responsibility and cleaning them up [as well as paying for the health care for inhaling the lead paint], we decided to just keep them this way.

If anyone sees Rensin, Nikodemos or JVNemesis around, make sure to offer your support for their hard times. I assure you all this won't happen again. Maybe. It likely will but that's besides the point.

  Second Account Creation
Posted by: Kretol - 11-03-2012, 12:10 AM - Forum: Community News - Replies (11)

So, effective immediately, I will no longer create second accounts for people. I found that it was too tedious and people had to wait too long, so that has been abolished.

...

Now, people will be able to do it themselves in the Components section of the site! However, in order to add it, I must once again call upon some graphic-savvy person to create a nifty pic for it! If someone would be so kind as to do that, it would be appreciated.

The requirement for a second account is to simply have a level 80 character on your account. Also, your username may not already end with a number!
(If you do happen to have a username that ends with a number that isn't already an additional account, feel free to create a ticket in-game)

  Changes to Special Profiles
Posted by: Loxmardin - 10-24-2012, 05:15 PM - Forum: Community News - Replies (14)

Hello everyone!

After much discussion within the GM team, we've decided and been granted permission from Kretol to make some changes to the way that Special Profiles are handled from now on.

As some may have noticed, the Special Profiles forum is gone. This is because all Special Profiles, from now on, will be discussed and approved separately inside the Private Discussion board. This has a number of perks. The profiles will be given the amount of attention they need from the entire GM team, and be on even level with the three types of profiles that were approved in Private Discussion previously; Demon Hunters, Felsworn and Dragonsworn. They will be viewed with the same scrutiny, and require three approvals, in order to apply more purpose and flesh to the previous Special Profiles who were simply posted up in the Special Profiles subforum. This will allow us to put under the looking glass profiles such as Nobles, ranking members of established organizations, characters of significant wealth, and so on. To note, all the profiles that were still in the Special Profile forum have been moved on to the Private Discussion forum.

In order for these profiles to not pass by the rest of the forums unnoticed, however, they will be kept in the To Wikify section upon approval for a week before being sent to the Wiki and, additionally, all Special Profiles from now on will be categorized as such on the Wiki. If you need a quick reference for Special Profiles then, you'll simply have to go by category. (The Wiki will be updated following this announcement as soon as we can get to it to make this easily accessible as we implement this new... "feature".)

What this will also mean is that all players with Special Profiles who are already approved need to create topics inside Private Discussion so we can apply the category to the right profiles. We can't sift through all the profiles on our own and apply it as we go, so if you have a character who had to pass through the Special Profiles board (and fulfill the requirements to be "Special" that'll follow below), please create a topic inside the PD and notify us about it. Provide a link, as well, if you're able.

Below follows a list of criteria to make the profile "Special".
  • The character is a Noble; A descendant of a Noble house which holds status and power. (This does not count if your character is from a fallen house, as that house is technically not a Noble house anymore.)
  • The character has accumulated wealth of some significance, or a significant amount of land/property under their name.
  • The character holds a position of power within a government or established organization by lore (Argent Crusade, Blood Knights, The Scryers, Kirin Tor...). (We know that Shamans are generally revered in Orcish society. Unless you've got any special kind of authority or power, however, you're not qualified for a Special Profile.)
  • The character counts as a Guard of a city or settlement with legal "authority" and obligation. (This includes Wardens, for instance.)
  • The character is supposed to have a force of NPCs to their name and under their command, that is significant and past the "for storyline purposes" single NPC that shows up once in a while.
  • The character is either a Demon Hunter (because of the very special skillset and training, and their rarity), Felsworn (because of their ties to the Legion) or Dragonsworn (because dragons).
  • The character is a bound servant of another character, such as a non-CMC ghoul.

With this new change, feel free to come forth with questions and suggestions to help us better define the guidelines set down above. And, all players with profiles posted in the Private Discussion forum, please bump them up for us at your earliest convenience so you can be reviewed along with the rest, this new system in mind.
