Welcome!
Lok'Tar! Conquest of the Horde was originally a private World of Warcraft RP community that focused primarily on roleplay within the WoW setting. Originally established in September of 2007, CotH enjoyed a healthy reign of over seven years focused on WoW roleplay. On January 22nd of 2015, a DMCA notice was issued, resulting in a halt of the WoW RP focus. Now, the community has expanded to encompass multiple worlds in various games and settings. This community will serve as a hub for members to join like-minded individuals in any game or environment. The community itself will also host a few game worlds of its own after development progresses enough.
While the dust is settling after the revelation of the WoW server closure, feel free to hang out and see how development goes!

Oops.

I would like to apologize to Aroes, Dotsy, Karunzo, and Uthaniel for getting their clothes all purple. I swear, it won't happen again.

Ignoring the fact that it happened to Terant twice now.

Carry on, people. Nothing to see here.

(Congrats to the new forum helpers!)

  Server Restart Date
Posted by: Grakor456 - 08-23-2011, 07:52 PM - Forum: Community News - Replies (66)

UPDATE: The restart is currently scheduled to happen on the 8th!

The restart will involve the following:

1. Character wipe. This will also involve an archival of profiles, and will function in a similar manner to the last restart where you will be able to submit changes to profiles as necessary.

2. Lore fixes. We'll be changing some things around with the timeline and using the official timeline, with best-guess dates for blurry areas (such as the events of Rise of the Horde, and the like) as opposed to the unofficial timeline (which, unfortunately, screws up some dates and makes certain lore characters impossible in terms of age.)

3. A location wipe. Certain custom areas will be no more.

4. A chance to start fresh for any character that wishes to start over. This, like the last restart, will be an "opt in or opt out" sort of deal, so if you want to keep past events, feel free. Assuming, of course, this does not conflict with the new lore changes.

5. Annihilation of the prestige system, replaced by either the variant system or no system at all, depending on player votes. For exact details concerning this, see the thread in General Discussion.

  More Forum Helpers, Please
Posted by: Grakor456 - 08-14-2011, 11:34 AM - Forum: Community News - Replies (6)

We're going to be recruiting another batch of forum helpers. I have created a thread in the forum helper subforum as a means of separating old applications from new ones. If you want to be considered, either post a new application, or bump up your old one over the line of dashes.

  8/6 1:44a - Revision Update
Posted by: Kretol - 08-06-2011, 12:44 AM - Forum: Server Status Updates - No Replies

So! Time for another revision update as well as more testing to try and get custom phasing specified in the database to 'stick' - that is, the character will be set to the phase specified. If this works, it'll make the custom portals and setting custom phases much easier.

Estimated downtime is just a few minutes!

Server's back up! But the phasing thing is still no worky. :(

We're no longer accepting profiles of Runemasters or Necromancers at this time. Sorry for the inconvenience.
