"Normal" characters?

Well this is the thing... most humans... or at least those that I've seen, are at least 60 years old. Now that's old for a human in these times!. However, if you character would join a rank that would indicate that he or she has to follow certaint rules... I'd think he or she would do that, yes? Because that's what you get your money for! If you don't, you wouldn't be too surprised to be kicked I presure...

That is basically what this post is about. People that think they can go against the Lieutenants ideas because 'they want it' or because they like to be the type that starts something. Now one person that is slightly leaning towards the rebellion isn't that bad, but all of them... They need a stop to them, they really do.

I have to agree with the TS, although there is something bothering me.

Most of the time when people start to notice that things aren't running smoothly ingame, they rather post in on the forum, than confront the one they are Rp'ing with. Of course it isn't fun to break a RP just because he/she behaves like he/she knows it all, is the best mage in the world and destroyed 3 other planets. But don't forget that the all the parties that are involved within the same Rp have to enjoy it. If someones character tries to be more than just the normal character, let the person be aware of it. Some of the people just joined and others don't know where the boundaries are for ones character. Don't be afraid to make them aware of their 'annoying' way of Roleplaying. It would improve their Rp behaviour although they will not like to hear/see it. Eventually when the player comes across other who notice his way of Rp'ing is just not realistic enough they will also make the player aware of it. And this may result that the person will find himself questioning himself about the way he/she Rp. And hopefully starts to read a few guides thata re posted in the articles/guides section on the forum. ^^

Somehow I can apply Maulbane to some things in this. Whether that's a warning sigh or not I have yet to decide. I like to think through all the writing I've done I've earned it. . .

Anyway. I used to play on retail, the Kul Turas Marine Force. Now guys, if a bunch of accursed "Retail roleplayers" can stand in a line and actually RP trainings WEEKLY for a MONTH, and get so far that they have an IC promotion ceremony, you all can. We're supposed to be above-average RPers.

Move him into the sun—
Gently its touch awoke him once,
At home, whispering of fields half-sown.
Always it woke him, even in France,
Until this morning and this snow.
If anything might rouse him now
The kind old sun will know.

Think how it wakes the seeds,—
Woke, once, the clays of a cold star.
Are limbs, so dear-achieved, are sides,
Full-nerved—still warm—too hard to stir?
Was it for this the clay grew tall?
—O what made fatuous sunbeams toil
To break earth’s sleep at all?

I have a mix of characters.

Grollok: AN Average horde grunt, through IC events, he believes himself to be guided by the spirits.
Kiegen: Just an average engineer helping the GSF effort.
Darius: Demented murdered and musician.
Daedrin: Sword weilding mage in his 40's. Mr. Grumpy.
Vargorn: Just another Elf hunting Orcs in Ashenvale.
Tarne: A dim warrior trying to help Sen'jin any way his limited intelligence allows.
Thalst: Your friendly neighborhood hunter/explorer dwarf

Now while some of my characters are normal, some are unique as well. What I think your all over looking is, RP in general is about being creative, and making your own stories and characters. So some of your characters are special, I'm not saying you should create a mary sue, but there is nothing wrong to throw in an oddity amoung people every now and then.

Edit: I'd like to throw in also, that I agree on the whole OOC information to try to win something is bull, but those are just people who need to learn, they have always been around, and always will be around.

Now, I will agree some people over do some of their profiles with fancy histories, it's a learning experience. This post makes it sound like you don't want any uniquness at all, that you want all normal characters. Sure that can be fun sometimes, but thats just limiting the imagination.

Remember, Azeroth is a far more dnagerous world than earth, when you grow up, 9 times outta 10, your gonna have combat experience, just because war has happened all over the damn place. So in my eyes there is really nothing wrong with knowing how to fight already, your rping someone who actually made it through the scourge plagues, hell, even made it to adulthood. Theres my 2 cents on the whole subject.

Edit: I'd like to throw in also, that I agree on the whole OOC information to try to win something is bull, but those are just people who need to learn, they have always been around, and always will be around. Also, the guild quitting after joining needs to stop, agreed with you there too.

Ah, yes... I witnessed a bit of what Ellyn's talking about while playing Kim in Duskwood. I must admit that even I was a bit angry OOCly at her subordinate's complete disrespect for her rank. What I would do in this case is simply boot them from the party. Plain and simple. Harsh, but you guys are a serious group and have no time for nonsense. Lexi was a part of a militia that ended up being disbanded because a lot of our members were rowdy drunks and womanizers who refused to obey direct orders and caused more problems than they solved. I miss the group dearly as I had a lot of fun with most of them IC and OOC. I'm having a lot of fun harassing your party as well, so I'd rather you guys didn't get disbanded either.

I've had fun with almost exactly this situation before. A bunch of people joined up to an Order I had going and all claimed to be the best at this, or superior at that.. Didn't follow orders, didn't listen when others tried to tell them something and finally just meandered around attending to their own side story lines while ignoring the Order's main plot lines.

The solution I came up with at the time was to find the biggest, nastiest most terrifying self proclaimed demi-god of awesome out of the group and promote him, then set him the task of making all the others fear him.

So, as you can expect, he was all for it and went totally crazy trying to make all the others like him submit.. thus ticking all of them off. That's when I kicked him out of the Order and every time one of the others started acting like that, I'd compare them with that guy.. Problem solved itself. >.>

Lawful Evil isn't just for stealing cupcakes when no one is looking.
