Prestige Q&A thread

I submitted an appeal to mix the Blademaster and Gladiator prestiges some time ago. Are they still separate, or have they been combined into one?

Without divulging any details...

No.

They are still separate.

But they have both gone through changes. I think you will be suitably impressed with what will be released.

The system itself allows players to only have three prestige characters at any one time. We do allow, however, for you to kill off a prestige you no longer enjoy playing to open way for another.

This brings the question.

Was "Killing off the character" a general example, or the only solution? I'm sure that if you killed off the character you wouldn't be able to ressurect him at a later date if you had three prestiges. (For example, if you have five prestiges, you can only have three alive at a time, so two would be dead.)

Assuming this assumption of mine is correct, my question is.

If I have four prestige characters and one of them is dead, is it possible that for an IC explanation I ressurect the aforementioned under the condition of him not using his prestige powers unless I fulfill the requirements (I.E, another one of my three prestiges dies.) So I can continue to use the character instead of freezing it's concept entirely?

What about finding a way to remove the Prestige's power, but keeping the character?
Above.

EDIT: Also, would there be a way to do it without killing the character?

And before the reply, I come with a suggestion.
Assuming the above is true; Should it not be implied some sort of OOC condition or limit for Prestige-swapping without killing the character off?
(Example; You can only "swap" prestiges once a month (Meaning you can only have 3 "active" prestiges and x "inactive" prestiges and you can only swap them once a month so people with over three prestiges wouldn't simply swap them on whim and effectively ruin the limit of prestiges.)

...Way too complex.

Incapacitate or otherwise kill off a character if you want to have more then three. Canceling powers and coming up with a system to organize that all would be too complex and, honestly, unnecessary.

Choose your prestiges wisely. That is all I shall say.

As an alternative to Uth's question, if I have 4 prestiges, can I just have one ICly retire, instead of killing him off?

Does this mean I can write up the info and spells of the Spell breaker again? :3
But have it totally formalized into the system?

Savagekin:
They can transform into ANYTHING that's a beast? What are the limits?
How does one go about learning about the animal? Whilst I have a general idea, I wouldn't know what the staff would want.
Will these forms be represented OOCly, or would I have to let people use their imaginations?

That would fall under 'incapacitate' in some form or another.

Let me say it like this now: Once you complete a character's prestige process it shall be known, forever more, as a prestige character. Whether it has powers or not does not change this definition.

You can only have three role-playable (Characters who can participate in a role-play) prestige characters at one time. If you wish to have a fourth prestige character, you must render one of the three incapable of role-playing. This can be that he is lost, he is imprisoned, is killed, is retired...Anything that prevents him from role-playing in a normal situation.

Submit to me a formalized list of abilities and we will consider them.

We haven't even begun Savagekin, so I cannot answer your question.

...The problem with this solution lies in the fact that the previous Prestige System allowed Category 1s to be limitless in number. So, obviously, you could take as many as you felt were doable.

Basically, if you have any excess of those, you're suggesting that the only way to deal with it is to kill off otherwise viable characters.

Any way y'all can give us a rough approximation as to how many prestiges are filled out? Like, X out of Y? Just so we can know about how much longer.

(I don't think we really count characters that were 'prestige one' as prestiges, really.)

Oooh. That makes sense, then. So, it won't conflict with the old system.

...I approve of this solution.
