Your Favorite Character [To Roleplay]
#46
No matter how many other characters I made/played/fedtothewildWindy, Alicia and Kate will always hold a special place in my heart. My reason? No idea. They're not the most amazing, the most beautiful, the smartest or even the suavest characters. But there's just something about that pyromancer and that crazy catlady that warms my RP muscle.

I've been staring at the screen for around 15 minutes thinking about which character I've enjoyed playing the most, and partially because I'm all over the place with my little personal army of toons. A part of me wants to say it's my newly retconned Geoni, but since he's so new, I can't say for sure. Another part of me wants to say Ce, but I still haven't found a way to put him through anything significant yet due to him not running into the right character for it yet.

And so I'd have to say my favorite character to RP was Eta. A rarely seen character of a rarely seen race. She had this interesting background and personality behind her. Not only is the idea of RPing a spirit walker fascinating (turning the body into a house for many souls and losing identity because of that), but her having to have been a mother and wife of a chieftain all the while meant that she had the responsibilities of carrying her people's culture, raising a child who she secretly named after a deceased lover, and being a good mate, and all while being in an internal battle to retain her identity among the many who she had to carry around with her. Playing out a spirit walker trying to survive within the community while not becoming estranged from it (as a spirit walker should be) is compelling and I would gladly pick RP with her up again if given the opportunity.

I also want her to have RP with Trolls because the idea that their fear of the dead and the fact that she's carrying around the souls of a bunch of her people's own would cause them distress has a lot of potential. Especially if they were friendly with her at first.

Ouch! I've always found questions like this hard caramels to crack and been asked it frequently about LARP-characters as well. In general I don't have one character that is singled out at all time, which one is most favoured depends on my mood and what roleplay is avaliable. Has it been long since I played a character I'm less likely to being motivated to play it, but reminiscing about the character can change that.

But I think there's quite a clear top three of characters I've roleplayed the most in-game hours on CotH:
  1. Anchorite Telah
  2. Farstrider Riael
  3. Witch Doctor Gambwe (Gamba)

Telah has by far been the most re-occuring character for me on CotH and it's all because of the Draenic Pilgrimage. His role as an anchorite has allowed me to RP him in most situations despite his personality not really suitable for interaction with undead or less serious roleplay.

Riael is my single most open-minded character I've ever created in any kind of roleplay and it is rooted in his pansexuality. This has of course opened up for many chances of roleplay and thrown him into quite a bunch of weird scenarios that were both events and just random happenings. What I like about Riael in comparison to Telah is that the farstrider is much more like myself in real life.

Currently I'm most excited for my goblin alchemist Caust and his future. Compared to all my other characters his personality has deeper facets and is somewhat more organic (stealing this from @ThePharaoh) and a lot more complex. In most ways he is not a hero or even an anti-hero, just a goblin!
