A Warning. [Read if you intend to RP with Nostra]

Can we create an incredibly evil killer character too?

Perhaps if you can be an STPC; a gaming term meaning 'story teller player character'. Usually used as a negative term, it's when a moderator/storyteller has a character that is not an npc but their own character. With the combined ability to oversee and control to an extent the outcome of events OOCly as well as have some a character representing themselves in the game there is a lot of room for this to go awry.

Now this isn't always the case of course, it's really dependent on whether the storyteller side of the person can be unbiased and remember that there are other players in the game that deserve the spotlight here and there.

There is probably more information on the subject at rpg.net, I just haven't found a good link yet.

I have to say I agree with all the things Semai said, Warcraft can be a dangerous place. If you don't want to risk death then you should probably try to get out of the situation as fast as you can.

Now, another thing I think should be noted is that if you wish to kill other characters you should be prepared to have the tables turned and get your character completely stomped on. Just because you attack first doesn't guarantee you the last laugh.

And everyone (Even Alistus) Is killable! Now then, I'm off to find my axe.

Hm, I don't think it's so black and white like "DODGE THE AL LOL." If you run into him in, say, a city, I doubt he's gonna jump up and kill you out of nowhere in the public eye.

But if he's like, trying to "make new friends in the graveyard...*"

*Make what you want of that.

To be fair he didn't kill my undead when he was making friends in a graveyard. Although he never got to the making friends part.

Some might have missunderstood the purpose of the warning, I am not saying that if you meet any of my characters they will kill you, just informing that there´s a chance (or risk if you will, hehe) that that might happen.

You get it now people?

Well the warning served its purpose and then some, although you shouldn't have posted it because now some people will avoid you IC due to the OOC warning even if their character wouldn't. :( Don't worry, I won't be afraid of you though.

Hmm... I wonder if it's possible to melt Ali's icy heart with Nari or something... Where is that girl?...

Maybe it isn't his heart that's the problem?...

Pffbt. All these people, scared of some potion-making skeleton with a bad laugh.

I should re-roll Andre just to give you some competition. It's healthy that way.

I'll change this eternal darkness to light!

They should all be afraid of me. Why does no one fear me!?!

I guess the green man with the big axe is just too cuddly for you all, eh? I see where this is going. I'm going to go sulk in my Orc-cave and press flowers until the fear strikes your hearts. It'll happen eventually...

Eventually

Eh, Kag. Just prove yourself to be a threat. In time, the fear will come. Heh. In my opinion, something like this isn't really needed if Alistus could just be bothered to whisper people when his character grows in hostility *shakes fist*. You folks can still rp with the guy, he's one of the server's better roleplayers, in my opinion.

Also, I'd like to think that these open sparks o' evil will help bolster the flame of in-character conflict. Yeehaw, and such.

Can we clarify what the rules are on someone deciding that your character just died?

I realize GMs have absolute authority in this server, and respect that, but I'd be pretty upset if a character I had put a lot of time in to died because I wanted to RP with someone who decided that their character is a bad ass.

Is there any sort of checks-or-balances system?

Can someone simply say "no" to dying?

Well, if you've been roleplaying with a character who suddenly turns evil, you could always just leave in an over-dramatic fashion. Or just lumber away without a word.

Look at Illidan for example. Why is he called the Betrayer? ... That's right, he turned ebil and everyone went "EWWW HE'S EBIL." then put him all on his ladge in poor destroyed Outland. Although that didn't really explain why he turned evil. Betrayed his social life? But you get my point!

But yeah, Alistus isn't going to completely pulverize you immediately on sight. He's not a psycopath.* And if you bump into him by accident, even though you know the warnings, your character could just leg it for his life. I try and do it in a sort of comic fashion. E.G.:

"Well... What do we have here?"
"What's that? Coming dear! I really gotta go... Seeyalater'kthanksbye!"

*Or is he?
