Your Opinion, Part 2
#1
I was gonna ask this in Part 1, but this is a different question regarding the same subject.

Here, we ask:
Which races do you think have bad design?

While the other one asked which one you thought was hot, this one takes a bit more thought. I'm not asking which one makes your junk retreat/go dry at the sight, but which ones, you think, were badly designed and could use a makeover.

Alliance:
Humans. Hands. Fucking. Down. I like how they're not human like their players (Some games have humans be, like, US; I'd derail the thread going into detail); their origins are interesting. But I think there was some poor design choices. The human males are too bulky. It'd be cool if WoW had adjustable sizes and features (I don't understand why they didn't go for that; for technical reasons, it's not inefficient or taxing to have in an mmo) but no, every human male looks like a 40 year old beefcake who doesn't exactly know why he's there.

The females are worse. I think their bodies are OK, it's their animations that get to me. They look extremely clumsy and out of place holding a sword. Their faces only add to this fiasco. I'm not convinced that that chick is a warrior; sorry.

Night Elf: Females only. That damn bounce they have tells me that they're appealing to their majority audience; to see a sentinel or Tyrande do it is like "wait...what?" I can tolerate the runway walk- I SORT of like it; , but that jump? Noh whei...

Draenei: It's really the sexual dimorphism that gets to me. They don't even look like they could mate together.

Horde

Female Trolls: I still think they are the epitome of adjusting something to appeal to a crowd, and it's blatantly obvious. I think the sexual dimorphism is only rivaled now by the Draenei. They remind me of a, literally, half-baked idea in that it's "not complete." Cutefase, anyone?

Orcs: Male posture. They have strong back muscles, why a hunch? More of a nitpick really. I'd rip into the dimorphism, but I actually think it works for them.

Other
Broken Ones: Not a design issue I have with them, but... Where tha bitchiz at? All I see are males

Also it'd be cool to see SOMEONE do something where the taller/bigger gender by default was the female - and is humanoid. I've read Drow were like this, for example. But to do that in a video/pc game, that'd take, like, guts. Whoa.

Human males are terrible, they're just so... no. If Blizz'd give them a model more like the Vrykul one and not so weird and squarish that would be awesome.

Blood elf females make me cringe too, they were made to look as if picking up that two hander is a job in itself for them.

I also can't stand how the Forsaken butcher every piece of shoulder armor. Get rid of those bones on their arms and it wouldn't be so bad, but at the moment everything seems to be small and hovering over them.

Meh, I think all races could use minor (some major) makeovers... Their hair, for example, and the body styles... Don't you think each race should be able to have more than one body style for each race? Like... shorter, or taller, plump or ripped, etc.? They could add makeup to the character creation/barber shop, too. It'd be nice to be able to change the color of their lips and stuff, and have those awesome cultish runes on your face if you were a warlock or something... Heh, I'm getting kind of off-topic. But yeah.

Humans ~ Women need to get non-brown underwear, and need to stop sighing. They could also walk and run a tad differently, and get some nails. Guys need to lose a bit of that gigantic muscle.

Night Elves ~ I DEMAND FLOWERS IN MY ELF'S HAIR. Oh, and they could make the fangs more visible... and the nails longer.

Undeadlies ~ Make the protruding bones and the like more random... Not just missing chunks at the elbow and such.

Orcs ~ The guys need to visit a chiropractor.

Trolls ~ The gals need bones, trinkets, charms, and the like so they don't just look... bleh.

All the classes/races could use some new attack moves. Not just stab stab stab, block, dodge, miss... They need some different art work for it.

Humans, and definatly Draenei.

I wish I could make Rensin look like... Rensin. He's not supposed to look like an Arnold ripoff. More so like a Michael Phelps with red hair, and a chinstache.

And Draenei... they are all messed up.

And of course, make the troll females look more like they should be a troll.

But that would make Rensin hot but only from the neck up bc I know you described his face to be a train wreck.

Hehe, well, that's how it goes. He's got the face of a farmer that's never been introduced to a toothbrush, but his body isn't half bad.

And... it'll get re-littered with scars.

I'll just copy and paste my standard ARGH YOU HAD THE TROLL FEMALES RIGHT WHY DID YOU CHANGE THEM?!? rant here. It frustrates me that the female trolls in the alpha (from the images I've seen) were right on the money for fitting the look the male trolls have, only more feminine. They had TUSKS. Now they have matchsticks. And no noses. They don't even fit the male troll's /flirt of "I like my women dumpy and droopy with halitosis" anymore.

*Cough* All the models. *Cough* But for the most part, I want the Orcs to stand more upright and the female Trolls to look more how they should.

That's my opinion though.

Bad design? Draenei. They look like they just took a bunch of properties that would be wierd and alien and stapled them onto an altogether too-human body. They don't look like they'd be able to balance on their hooves, let alone walk. The curve of their spine is... painful to look at. Even more so than the orc's hunch. Plus the male faces are rather lacking. And to beat a dead horse, (of course, of course), the males are way too huge. That's not to say I dislike them, or that I don't think they have their own certain charm, but there's quite a bit more that could be done to make them look better.

Night elf males. They have arms like Popeye the Sailor Man. I don't care if I said it a thousand times, I'll say it again here. They're hideous and malformed. Plus, they're too tall and too muscular. Women are supposed to be the dominant ones, but it doesn't really show. And I don't think I could get away without mentioning the haggard old man faces and ridiculous mustaches and other facial hairs that make them look like washed up porn stars. The females--too skinny knees, too much jiggle, not enough hips and ridiculous run/walk animations, to sum it up in a word. Or several. (This is what happens when I write things at 3:00 in the morning.)

In regards to the humans, can't add much to what you already said. Except that the male's faces look like they've been bashed in with a frying pan, or... I don't know... mutated from steroids.

Blood elves, now... It may be fitting that they don't have any pure warrior classes, but c'mon. They look like a gust of wind would snap them in two. But the standing animations and ridiculous sashay while walking irritate me to no end. Then again, this may just be my boiling hatred for things bloody and elven combined. Bleh.

At the potential risk of mentally scarring myself by saying this, dwarf nipples. Are they different from other nipples? Inverted for some reason or another? And hanging off to the side? Bah. Plus the beer gut isn't protruding enough, so the texture doesn't look like it's squished in, and doesn't really match their tree-trunk "I could wrestle a bear with these guns" muscular arms. The females could use a bit more muscle, too. I mean, heck, I could understand not giving it to the humans, however flimsy an excuse it may be, but they're dwarves! They're supposed to be tough girls. Their model just doesn't portray that.

Gnomes... gnomes, gnomes, gnomes. Heads are a tad too big, I guess, and arms a bit too small. It doesn't look like they'd be able to function. Still, not terrible, for what they are.

Ugh.

Orc, Troll, Tauren, and Draenei females. They look nothing like the males. It annoys me to absolutely no end.

While I love Orcs, I wish they'd get better hair styles. I think there are only two or three I tolerate, and one of them is going bald. Also, the posture on the males doesn't seem to have any basis in the other games.

Tauren...do not have THAT big of a hunchback. They were pretty bad in WC3, yes, but not THAT bad.

Blood Elf females. I'm going to say it...they are thin. Freakishly so. In a way that makes me a little sick at how absurdly anorexic they are. I try not to think about it too much.

Female Night Elves...less stripper, more amazon warrior as they should be. Thanks.

That's all I can think of.

I think that even though the Humans are *Beefcake* (lol.) it can sort of fit, seeing how their mortal enemies are the Uber-beefcake Orcs. No matter what Orcs will always out muscle a Human but I guess Blizzard wanted to tighten the gap? Who knows.

If I dislike any of the races for look, Drae men are sick. Eradicate them.

And Night-Elf girls are not, like Grak said, Amazon-y enough. They are the core of the military for Night-Elves, it would make sense if they were a bit more imposing.

Sometimes, I think... why don't the men look like the women? Not the other way around. Some of the females of the race were designed much better (More fair, in a PvP-setting and more balanced compared to other females.) If anything, I think the males of a lot the races are extremes.

I agree with Grakor and the "some females are too skiny" thing. Plus, the models in the Eastern Kingdoms loading scene are (the females, I mean) a bit too far developed in a certain aspect (you know what I mean.
Although, this is probably more of a theme for the last channel. (Adult, that is).

I don't believe the females are too small compared to the males (well, maybe the humans are a bit unbalanced), although I still don't know why on earth do troll males have this... weird... broken back disease?
(joking, I wonder why the females have absolutely straight backs, but on the other hand, troll males look like they've been forced to work like slaves for years)

The Naga females shouldn't have four arms in my opinion. The whole thing about "females are smarter" is probably right. At least they are more balanced and mature. (I'm a male).

Here it goes!

Humans: Too much muscles for males, where is the long gandalf/merlin/santa beard? The females have bad emotes (Worst macarena ever) also their upper legs are too muscled.

Dwarves: Females need to be able to get beards at max level, I thoughd it was a sign of wisdom in Warcraft dwarven lore? The men need longer and more facial hair styles.

Night elves: Males look good, only their dance style ruins what they are.
Females, nothing wrong except for the jump.

Gnomes: Yay for gnomes, they look exactly how I want them to be, when blizzard has some time left they could add a cool Steam warrior suit though.

Draenei: For the men: Eeew whats that on your head, chin and cheeks.
For the women: Draenei men get a lot of fun, they must be lonely now the women discovered other, more attractive races.

Orcs: That hunch....

Forsaken: Looks like only the physically weak undeads got freed from the Lich kings control.

Tauren: Only race where women have facial hair, I love 'em.

Trolls: Nothing wrong, But they look like the night elves ugly sister/brother race.

Blood elves: The women look too skinny, a gnome outweighs them.

Goblins: Nothing wrong, I'd like to see more females though. (do they have their own dance style?)

Thats my short list O:-)
Mabra Dragonbasher- A battle hungry dwarven lady, hirable for personal protection and for larger tasks requiring violence.

You and I haven´t met the same kind of gurls then.

The only thing that I really want would be be for undead to wear clothes without tearing them apart and trolls to be able to wear shoes instead of those anckle... warmers.

Edit: Just to clarify, I´m not saying that women aren´t balanced and mature, just that I wouldn´t agree with that stereotype. Most people I´ve met are pretty much the same, mature is not a word that comes to mind.
