Goblins and Worgens CONFIRMED as next two races
Here's the thing, though. Blizzard is already going for lore control as it is with these class changes.

Tauren Paladins aren't as far out as you'd think, and NElf mages are a 'been there, done that' kind of thing. All in all, I really don't think these class/race alterations are that far off.

Where lore comes in at first, you then add the element of having to live in a day-to-day survival warzone and a lot of things can open up a bit. People will do the so-called 'unthinkable' to save their own skins, sometimes. All it takes is one person thinking, "Oh snap! A new enemy, and I have to fight to survive every day! ... I should learn magic!"

More people are bound to have their own curiosities piqued by this, and then viola! You have a new group of whatever race becoming mages where they weren't beforehand.

This is, of course, barring the cultural stigma behind some of these class to race arrangements, especially NElves and their magic. The Night Elves with the Arcane is a hate-hate relationship. They know its destructive capability because a group of their own decided to dabble in it a bit too much, the Highborne.

Now, apparently the Highborne aren't all dead, and some are even coming 'out of the woodworks', so to speak.

Remember, though - This all could be lore-bending anywho, so my points may all be null-and-void.

And yes, I know that a lot of learning these classes go through will be hard to do in such a situation, and that the mage example I gave is a wee bit extreme.
10,000 days in the fire is long enough,
You're going home...

Oh Meh Gawd I'm so excited for this. Gilneas looks so awesome! Great place for old timey steampunk RP and shit. Dwarf shaman makes absolutely no sense at all but who cares! I'm so excited for a goblin on a roflcopter flying across the Tanaris!

Dwarven Shaman makes perfect sense. The Wildhammer dwarves are quite often shaman.

Hawk! SLAPINTHEFAICE* them!

You've got to be fething kidding me. I will never acknowledge a Tauren Paladin. Rogue, maybe... but a PALADIN? C'mon, they don't even worship anything -close- to the light.

They don't have to, I touched on it a few pages or so back with quest quotes.

Yeah but the playable race is Ironforge dwarves, whose number one hobby is destroying the earth to get to titan artifacts.

According to what I've read, they've gotten better at that. A troop of Tauren shaman are even supposedly assisting them in their dig in Mulgore, to help appease the earth.

The playable race is Ironforge dwarves, yes -- but in a time of massive trouble, with the earth splitting wide open and torrents of lava burying entire villages, I can see why they would turn to their more nature-savvy northern cousins for a little help getting things back under control.

Yeah, you're right. I was just thinking that since they dug up the earth and stuff the spirits might resent them for it. But if they improved relations with the Wildhammers to the point that some might live together, they would probably teach a few Ironforgers shamanism. Plus now that I think about it, there is a draenei shaman trainer in Ironforge as well. So they would be rare, but an Ironforge dwarf shaman could exist.

So it looks like the Worgen will have an ability to change between human and worgen while out of combat. We'll have to get rid of that. No werewolves on my watch, they get to be beast only and like it.

Yeeeeeeah, please no Lycans... That will just lead to Vampire Princesses of the Dark World who can also change into Worgens for some reason and every once and a while can grow wings and fly because her father was part dragonkin!

Do -NOT- go thar. Please T.T

But having Worgen around probably is a good balance, and will make for interesting RP at some point. Now you have a rather savage race in the Alliance as opposed to what...? *counts* Tauren, Orcs, Trolls... *ends count* five savage (more or less) races in the Horde;

I'd like to see how the Night elves will relate to them and vice versa... But what I really want to see is, how the general population will react to the wolf men. I mean, not that long ago they were -skinning- them.

Now they see their carpets suddenly coming to life and -talking- to them... It'd be a pretty interesting *slapintehfaise* :/
waaaghu~

Tauren aren't savage, they're cuddly QQ

*sarcasm*Anyway, I'd love to RP a dragonkin*end sarcasm*

This expansion won't be nearlly as epic as the trailer makes it out to be imo.

Alot of you have said like, that the cataclysm is gonna make it awesome and whatnot but.. If you think about it, it's just a visual update on old lands with new quirks. Sure it gives some RP opportunity but the cracks in the Barrens are just cracks in the barrens. It might look funky but that's about it. It won't really be as epic as the trailer decieves you into thinking it will be.

I'm suprised that blizz has concentrated on low level content updates and stuff with this expansion seeing as they have tried to make the leveling process so fast and easy over time.

The only real changes that stand out to me as being important to us are the new races and the new class/race combinations. Having watched the trailer again a couple times and the epic'ness of it wearing off over time, the whole thing just feels mediocre now. I don't really like the direction Blizzard is going with this.

The new features that effect us mostly will be new races, the change of land, and new classes for races.

If you dig through what the man with the odd voice says in the trailer, that's pretty much all we'll get as an RP realm. Mostly everything else will be focused on newer dungeons, PvP, and more quests to get to 85.

I think that having two new races pop out of, what seems almost like, nowhere (Worgen*cough*), having a lot of classic zones reformated with major changes, and having odd combonations like Troll Druid, all in one expansion is just a little too big of change at once. LOL

And also, on Gnomish Priests: It may be possible that a select few decided to devote themselves to the Light. But that would be a small number, as it goes against Gnomish nature somewhat.

Oh well. If im going to play a worgen it would be cool to play one as an intelligent, calculating strategist general. I aint really appealed by ferocity etc...maybe as a hidden power yes.
