Aula Arcanum: Risen from the Ashes

It'd be cool if there was a class for like...warrior mages. I have a character profile for a warrior mage that I'm waiting to toss up. Heh.

Is a Warrior Mage a category one prestige?

If that warrior-mage was looking to expand their knowledge of magic whatsoever, there would be a place for them, no doubt.

Well, think about it.
[Warrior]-[Mage]
That's multiclassing.

"Warrior-mage" is actually a battlemage.
They're mages that hone their bodies and mix spellcraft with swordcraft.
They're considered a different take on the mage class and not even a prestige.

Yes, but that would still essentially mix two classes. Mages, from what I've seen, are not even allowed to be very good at melee, and training them to be would be, in my eyes, metagaming.

Warrior-mage would most likely be a warmage, rather then a battle mage. Here is wowwiki info on them:

Warmages are arcane spellcasters who accompany soldiers into the heart of battle. The generations of warfare on Azeroth have given warmages time to hone useful spells into simple and secret rituals, called "battlemagics", which are passed from warmage to another. Warmages are proficient with all simple melee and ranged weapons, and light armor. They can wield a sword in one hand, and a staff in the other. Armor of any type interferes with the warmage's arcane gestures, which can cause his spells to fail (if those spells have somatic components). As warmages accompany warriors into battle, they become better at defending themselves than other wizards. They develop greater martial skill in the crucible of battle. Warmages are similar to battle mages.

They are as logical or even more logical then paladins and death knights (who are warrior priests and warrior necromancers respectively, this is the same concept just with arcane magic )

I believe Battlemages are Warrior-mages who use plate armor and a normal mage weapon, and Warmages are Warrior-mages who use swords but still wear cloth. I'm not entirely sure, but that's what I've heard.

As I recall, warmages are mages who substitute their traditional weakness in hand to hand combat with swordsmanship. In fact, many mages do this; it's not at all uncommon. They fight in the front lines with warriors, and fight mainly by eliminating a large number of enemy troops with a powerful spell, then clean up the leftovers with an enchanted blade. Some choose to only weild a sword, others only a staff. A large bulk, however use both weapons. They do in fact wear only cloth armor. Due to their commonality, they are not considered a prestige by this server, and any mage can be one, as far as I know.

Hope this answers questions.
