The Solheim Society

Purpose of the Society

The Society is an all-inclusive social/class-focused RP guild. It allows all races to join. The only limitation is class: A character must use or otherwise study Fel in some capacity to become a member.

The purpose of the Society is to create a community that works towards protecting warlocks and fel-users. To this end the Society strives towards increasing its own strength through any means, to allow it to fight against those who would do it harm and secure the warlock's place as a power in the world.

The organization works towards policing their own, trying to recruit non-aligned warlocks and hunt down ‘Hedge’ warlocks that try to operate beyond the Society’s control to ensure the group's strength and influence.

History of the Society

In the year 27 Lucius Solheim, a Duskwood Warlock visiting Northrend, arrived at the Argent Crusade Tournament Grounds. The Argent Crusade, then accepting warlocks in preperation for their upcoming siege of Icecrown, embraced Solheim and invited him to serve as a Visiting Warlock. During his stay in the tournament grounds he met and eventually befriended other visiting Warlocks. Out of this open association a group formed, the normally separate warlocks banding together into a loose collection of friends and brothers who helped one another on and off the battlefield.

During his stay, Solheim also began visiting the nearby Dalaran. During these visits the warlock grew enamored of the floating city and began to gradually bring back parts of its structure and government to his fledgling group of warlocks. Seeing the value of uniting warlocks and binding them to a code of conduct for their mutual benefit, Solheim began to expand the Society beyond just a social club. By the Fall of the Lich King the group had taken on a code of conduct and a command structure.

After the siege, the fledgling Society tried to establish itself openly in the world to continue its work. The Society was persecuted, however, when it began to operate outside the tournament grounds and Icecrown. The membership was attacked frequently and after a year the group voted to go into hiding. During these interim years the society began internal splits, with new factions struggling against the old council.

After the Cataclysm and the death of Solheim, the Society left Northrend and disbanded. Four months after their parting, a few stray members returned to the mainland of Azeroth. The group settled in the mountains surrounding Alterac to begin the process of constructing a Kirin-tor style organization that could peacefully uplift the warlock's role in Azeroth.

Issues and difficulties plagued the society from the beginning. The challenges culminated in agents of the Argent Crusade rounding up the members and pushing them out, disbanding the organization forcefully.

Months later the Society has begun to rebuild. Bitter and ashamed over the dismissal of the Society's goals, Marianna has since decided to take the group in a new direction: One towards independence and self-betterment, to build up the warlock into a functioning and powerful entity that earns the world's respect.

Society Ranks

In Order Of Rank

Chatelaine
The leader and the highest officer of the Society, the Chatelaine's duty is to protect and empower the membership. Is tasked with reviewing new members, overseeing administrative duties and providing the guidance the Society's membership is required to follow. The position is currently held by Marianna Bisen.

Superior
The Officers of the Society, each Superior is tasked with a certain duty that they must perform, from overseeing guard work to research and implementation of the Chatelaine's wishes. They have the ability to command Hunters and normal Members, though they are required to follow the orders and advice of the Chatelaine. They are appointed by the Chatelaine.

Hunter
The Hunters serve as both the police and recruiters. Their work is to ensure all Fel-users, members or not, follow the rules of the Society. They are also tasked with recruitment operations, encouraging non-aligned Warlocks and Fel-users to come under the control of the Society. They are appointed by Superiors or the Chatelaine.

Member
The normal membership of the Society, a Member can hold down any position or duty that is asked of them by a Superior or the Chatelaine. They are given the ability to use Society resources and are given the protection of the Hunters. They are appointed after introduction and interview.

Outsider
A mostly out-of-character rank, the Outsider is either a pre-Member who has yet to go through the Membership process in-character or is a Fel-user who has agreed to follow the rules of the Society but not become a full member. The latter is tolerated by the Society but will usually be pressured to become a full member.

Rules of the Society

Members and Sanctioned Users of the Society are expected to abide by an ever-changing code of rules and conduct. Failure to follow these rules may result in any measure of punishment, from a warning or dismissal to violence and even death, depending on the severity.

Urameil is too chaotic to fit in here.

Looks like Rets'nis will have a purpose after all! However, I am uncertain if this guild would include orcs.

Don't worry, it does.

The group accepts all races. The limitation is only class. Warlocks, Mages who study Fel, melee classes who use fel, fel enchanters and the like only.

But more information about that will come out tomorrow!

What are the odds of a Shadow Priestess poking around with this lot, Rosencrat?
Active Characters:
Velennia - Anchorite. Has a strange liking for tea.
Vynthia Blackfire - Magistrix. Craves sightseeing.
Vanessa Briarthorn - Seemingly timid housewife. Enjoys painting.

A Shadow priestess would be hard but not impossible. They would just need to demonstrate an interest in fel, most likely in this case affliction, and earn the trust of the members.

And the rules are the final update.

The Society is now open and ready for recruitment. Currently the group is using the Human Manor, but that is only temporary.

If you are interested in joining, speak with me or another member or contact me on Skype at a Rosencrat.

Hope to see you all soon!
